Who is excited about the new GT4 RS I know I am! So join me as we go through the configurator! How would you build yours? Share your build code in the comments below!
Weissach package does not require the magnesium wheels. They are an expensive option either way. You can also do the 18 way with the Weissach on the US configurator.
@@porscheswithmarc that's what i was thinking. local dealer wants a refundable money down to get on the list for one, but said eventually I would get one. Have you seen demand for the 992 GT3 change with this announcement?
@haysam I have not seen the demand change at all. End of the dat the GT3 is still faster and both car serve two different all be it very similar purposes
@@porscheswithmarc GT3 is NOT faster 0-100 mph, standing quarter mile or 50-70 mph. In fact exactly the same. GT3 is SLOWER 0-200 mph by a FULL SECOND. On Nurburing it is faster, yes.
@@easyrider7021 I have to go with what Porsche claims for obvious reasons. That being said, I do understand they hold it back. Can’t wait to see a head to head comparison from the likes of Top gear, Carfection and so on.
Video doing well Marc, my mate tried to order the GT4 RS last week here in the UK and he was told by his particular dealer that they only have 1 allocation for 2022, so it was unlikely, but there are still GT4 builds available in 2022.
@@porscheswithmarc Hi Marc. Sorry but this is not the way it works. It’s all about the relationship between you and your dealer (buying history, personal relation, bevaviour, networking and so on) In other words: you have to deserve an allocation for a special model. Pressing your dealer, especially if you have no buying history, is nonsense. They don’t need you. They have more customers than they can handle. There is no missing out for a dealer for a special model. And yes, i signed for a fully specced GT4 RS today!
I found it surprising that if the Weissach package is not ordered then standard equipment is an air inlet in black behind the drivers and passengers window, so just a sculpted hole to let air into the engine. Whereas all the videos I have seen show the Weissach package which includes exposed carbon fiber air intakes and AIR BLADES behind the drivers and passengers windows. I wonder if power is down without the air blades? The appearance is certainly drastically different.
As far as I have gathered the carbon air box does provide some RAM effect. Be it marginal. It apparently also changes the sound of the air intake when driving the car but obviously this would have to be confirmed by journalists. Power is the same, regardless how the car is configured.
Overall nice spec. I think you went a bit too aggressive with the interior options. Coming from someone who has a 718 GT4 and should have an allocation for the 4RS. I’m going with weissach, no magnesium’s, PCCB’s, buckets, lift, fire extinguisher, LED’s and that’s it.
Shame you can't get the air intake ducts without getting the weissach package. At least they can make the air intake standard and have them be Carbon Fiber if the Weissach package was selected.
@@easyrider7021 Yes, I should have been more clear. You do get the air intake regardless but you loose the RAM effect if you do not take the Weissach Package
It's crazy to pay $34K for the magnesium wheels and Weissach package on a Cayman GT4RS! I'm doing a very nice build for $152K total, and it would be $160K if you did PCCB's.
Great interesting video just a shame you can't actually buy one! Here in the UK you won't get one as only one car build allocated to the bigger centres that's it and will already have a buyer or they will run it and then sell it as a "used car" at 100k more like with the GT3 shame on Porsche!
There is a little square in between the center console stack and the center arm rest. By opting for the smokers pack you will get a latch to cover up this hole. It also gives you an extra power outlet to keep your GoPro charged. Hope that helps
I’ll give you a practical reason. For track days, I carry an air compressor that plugs into an electrical outlet (with a separate long extension cord) or more practically, into the center cigarette lighter slot. It’s essentially to get the tires back to street pressure levels for the drive home after you’ve bled out a bunch of air during the track sessions. It’s also practical if you have battery maintainers for your car. I have a few cars and I don’t have the time drive them all consistently so I keep them on battery maintainers. My 3RS has a plug in the glovebox but it’s easier to plug the maintainer into the middle of the car.
