This is a look at our experience searching, and purchasing our home in San Juan Puerto Rico. You will hear some of the things needed to know about the process. The Howard's Adventures
We moved here 2 years and love Ponce area! Beautiful calm beaches year round closeby, excellent hospitals, lots of activities. Ponce airport great to travel from. Ponce is a hidden gem. Cruises will begin coming in to Port soon. Our mortgage process was excllent with Co/ Lab Lending. Closed in 32 days.
That is a beautiful area. We have been a couple times and it is one of those places that most people sleep on. We are glad things have been going well for you all and maybe one day we will all meet.
Awesome video. Congratulations!! My family and I just relocated to the Island a few months ago. We are actually just beginning the search. We love the Calle Loiza area near Condado most. More than likely that is where we'll buy. Again congratulations. Pura Vida.
Nice video. I wish you all the best in Puerto Rico. Business tends to be done a bit different than the mainland United States - and that is not always a bad thing. When it comes to real estate agents not wanting to work with other one (split fees)... Something amazing happens if the property value they are working on is very expensive - They tend to become very hospitable and want to work together. LOL On the other side of the coin, finding a reputable agent who works hard for their clients (no matter what the price of the property) is always a great resource to have. I am looking at possibly buying near Carolina near the airport as well. While it can be a bit louder due to the airplanes, traffic, etc. - it's location is awesome. Not to mention the Roberto Clemente baseball stadium... I don't know if games are still played there, but me and my wife love baseball games and that would definitely be a selling point for us.
Thank you so much, we have been enjoying our new home on the island. Our experience we for the most part pretty good. It was a rocky one until we decided to buy with a cash offer. Thanks for watching and keep watching a we try to add more content about our travels.
Try Miramar in San juan, sleepy neighborhood right in the middle of everything in San Juan, better then Carolina in my opinion, less traffic to deal with....and minutes from everything, even some free trolley service
Thank you for giving a beautiful reason for moving there. There are others who move there to exploit the land and displace the natives by buying apartment buildings and converting then into Airb&b or hotels, all while taking advantage of Act 22 where no tax is paid. An American colony loophole for the rich. Mostly impacting the local natives who are displaced and unable to afford new housing.
You have act 20, 22 and 60 when it comes to taxes in Pto. Rico, and under each you pay some form of tax, not as you would in the states but none the less you pay. The people whos home is less then 100,000., and its their main dwelling don't pay tax, but if you buy a property in Pto., Rico to rent out you do pay a tax. Also you don't pay income tax as you do in the states, but you still pay taxes on your income, I know this as a fact I was sent to work twice in Pto., Rico by IBM the company I worked for in the states, I moved back to the states in 2014 and the tax on goods was 16%, this tax is known as IVU, so yes people, one way or another the people in Pto., Rico do pay taxes, please tell it like it is.
Thank you for the video. Me and my wife are also planning on buying in Puerto Rico. Fortunately for us, we have family there that works for a mortgage company. My question is, can you spell out the areas you were interested in? I apologize, I didn't quite understand what places you were naming.
Hello to you. We looked in Carolina, San Juan, Bayamon , Isla Verde, and other metro areas of the North. We ended up in San Juan in an area that is called the design district close to Plaza Las Americas
