For many years in my quest to built the perfect work appropriate wardrobe I bought clothes that were on sale, didn’t fit right, didn’t feel right, weren’t my style. I wasted so much money. You are so spot on with the tips! I once spent quite a bit of money on a cardigan and shell that my sister said “get that it looks great on you”. I didn’t care for the color or the way it looked on me! I have never wore it! Love your quick videos!

Nancy, I love your videos and have watched all of them. I'm starting a major purge following your guidance and since I've just recently retired and no longer need a "work wardrobe." I do wonder about those of us who live in northern climes and have six months of winter. I'd love to know how you transition seasonally following your concepts. Easy care is essential for me too, that's why for example i don't buy cachemire (even if i really love the feeling of it on my skin and the look of it)

Hi Frederica, I love easy care but I love cashmere, too! Since you only need to launder cashmere once or twice a year, why not treat yourself to one or two pieces? I have a cashmere wrapt that I love! I keep it hanging in my closet and I can hand wash it when needed.😀

Hi I'm a newbie on here too, thank you for explaining a capsule wardrobe I had heard the term but didn't know what it was. I have been inspired to clean and sort my wardrobe especially getting rid of clothes I never wear. I hang my clothes by colour or the dominant colour then light to dark in that colour. I also have roughly 35 scarves, I do the same thing with them which look awesome on the rails of my four poster bed 😃 I must confess most of my clothes are "this only goes with that" so I have a lot to do in that area. I love all your capsule wardrobes! I have a question: if one had all neutral bottoms, wouldn’t almost every color top go with the neutral bottom? Say you have blue, kaki, white, pink and olive bottoms. Can you have yellow, pink, green, blue, orange white, burgundy tops. It’s not a color palette. Does this idea not work as well?

This is a great question, Deanna! You are spot on with the idea of neutral bottoms. If you enjoy wearing all of those different colored tops, go for it. I also like to keep my color palette in mind when I'm layering additional items like bags, scarves, sweaters, jackets, and shoes. Do you like to choose neutral colors for those items or to be able to match them to your shirts?

I seem to have neutral bags and shoes but I have both neutral and brightly colored cardigans, sweaters, and jackets. I didn’t do this consciously, lol. But capsules with a color palettes you do blow my mind with how many outfits it makes!! Thank you for telling me to go for it!! 🎉

This really makes sense but I just cannot be limited to a few colors. I've watched videos where the ladies have all neutral wardrobes. No, cant do it and honestly, that hoodie would look just fine with white or light blue denim 😊💗 I just like to be flexible with everything in my life, change things up all the time. One question, How long will you keep those colors in your wardrobe, or does it change in the fall? Don't you miss greens, browns, or Red colors? I ask to better understand this technique of the Capsule Wardrobe

Hi Gina, You have some fabulous comments! I created this video the help people realize they don't have to have a neutral capsule wardrobe. You can choose all of YOUR favorite colors for it. I do change out my wardrobe seasonally and I'll be adding more videos on this topic. 😀

The only thing that bothers me about mixing and matching is: example, you have a pink top that can be worn with jeans, a navy skirt, a black pair of pants and a pink and blue flowered shorts. When people see you they remember the pink top no matter what your bottom piece is! So it looks like you wear that pink top all the time!! I know accessories can make some difference, but not all that much.

The funny thing is because you only purchase things you absolutely love to include in your capsule wardrobe. You love your pink top. You’ve created 4-5 outfits based upon the one top you love. PS. Stop caring about what others may or may not be thinking of you. It’s your style sense not theirs. Wear what you love
