18 years later my Adrenaline Impulse is still one of my favorite markers to this day. I just bought a new board for it so I could meet local field rules (10.2 ramping or 12.5 semi). It's newest sibling a Baba Yaga Adrenaline shocker is quickly moving up the ranks though. But my local tournament days are long past me and I enjoy rec ball with a occasional air ball weekend when the local d4 team comes out to practice. I'm so glad I never sold any of my old gems from my younger days. The looks you get when you break out a marker legit older then half the people you are playing against just feels special and so glad I found a quality local field again.
Recently picked up a Geo 2.1 and ordered an IV core to boost it up! I'm slowly buying up all of the guns I always wanted as a kid. I won a Geo 1 off of ebay in the rare Lagoon color pattern, might IV core that bad boy as well. It's more fun being unique on the field with these older guns than the standard run of the mill 170s everywhere.
Basically man you just told me my 3.1 is better than the 3.5 and now my $450 marker is now a $1500 marker. Thanks man definitely putting mine up for $950 obo. Lol love this video man I haven’t been around often to talk to you but I make sure I watch your videos of you talking. Keep it up my man and get them GAINNNSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Couldn't agree more with your choice. I still keep a geo 3 with an IV core in the stable always it's so awesome. I am one of the 20+ gun guys too so that says something.
@@Mid232 you can get a GEO 1 for $250 and later iV core it. $250 also gets you a lot of older Dye Matrix guns DM11 is a favorite. I sold a beat up vanq to a local kid for $275 a few weeks back
I personally prefer durability over shot quality the iv may have better shot quality but the gamma core won’t break (Edit) I’m not saying the iv core isn’t reliable
Agreed. Idc what it sounds (barrel affects sound far more than bolt anyway) or feels like, I want it to shoot, always, in cold ny winters, and hot and sticky ny summers. Love my gamma core.
...and the IV core does not, in fact, have less kick than a Gamma core gun despite what people love to say. The Gamma core is more reliable and more efficient than the IV core, and is worse at nothing. Why anyone still shoots guns that use it is a mystery to me.
@@Dave-wy5nq and at the price of the geo iv, you may as well just get the cs2 and have the newer more efficient bolt over a bolt thats a decade old. I think I've seen a couple tests, and the gamma core only gets Ike 1-3 pods more depending on weather and bullshit. At that price point id shell out the little more and get the LV1.6 since my cs2(non pro) is going strong zero issues what so ever after 2 years of just about AVG every other weekend of PB.
Just found your channel and ur also from AZ! Niceee I also rock the geo 3 I do love it, huge upgrade from when I rocked the mini years ago programming with blinks kinda sucked lol but yeah barrel would be my next upgrade forsure.
I'm confused tho, if you want performance and tune ability why are you shooting a spool? LV is where its at if smooth is what you want. Smoothest gun ive ever shot out of the box. LOVE that shot.
The geo 3.1 with IV core I had was nice, I'd just have a hard time recommending them to others because of the solenoid costs. If it's been sitting around without being used for a while and it goes bad on you, a solenoid for the geo 3 platform is almost half the cost of the gun itself, and they're getting more scare.
Dude, you have a 1k gun and you're comparing the accuracy of PB guns?? Barrel, paint consistency and quality, and bore match are what affect accuracy not the kind of gun, if all those things are good ill shoot a tippman more accurate than my cs2 using dimpled old ass paint any day
@@mikesheber2205 true. Buuuuuuuut it does have a teeny tiny bit to do with the marker, only if you’re comparing a super low pressure marker to a high pressure marker, because any small gaps in paint to barrel match are exacerbated by high pressure puffs of air from the bolt.
IV core used $260 on ebay! And looks like only one complete with the IV propshaft and all i had a seller thought he had a geo 3 with IV core but because he had the can and bolt tip that said IV but had the stock all black prop not the grey/green IV prop and he still got $480 for it! I paid recently $500 for my 3 with IV core from trade my gun an came with brand new soloniod thats why i was fine paying that much! An with their 30 day technical warranty and free returns cant go wrong!
Macdev Clone GT or GTi. Routinely 300-350 and will shoot as smooth or smoother than the IV core. You could even get a VX for 250ish if you don't care about macroline or quick release bolt.
Hey Scotty, I got a 3.5 a bit over a year ago it’s perfect. Upgraded from an problem heavy axe pro. And your videos have kept me hype the whole journey. Super underrated channel. Love your story and discussion videos!
@@WillBallForSoup its paintball brother, gooood luck with that. Only pro sport where all but the top tier pay to play, imagine if minor league baseball players in a, aa, and aaa had to pay to play in the minors, like what the fuck.
Funny enough I have the entire Geo Line but never got a 3 or 3.5 as I was out of the game for many years at that point. I have the 4 though and it's amazing. I know the video is old but it works, keep up the great money saving tips! Not everyone has a rich family to be able to afford the latest and greatest!
@@WillBallForSoup your one of the guys that got me into paintball and helped me with proper etiquette. Wouldn’t be playing if it wasn’t for you and Matty Boy
I personally shoot a gamma 3.0, because for the moment I can’t find an IV Core within a reasonable price range. I agree with everything you said in this video BUUUT, my 3.0 is starting to show its wear over time and parts are becoming harder to come by, things that were eliminated in later models because they break, parts I literally can’t find now so I have to tape down. These are stuff that come with getting a steal of a gun, but I’ll never sell mine and it will probably never be replaced as my daily driver, honestly the best gun ever made IMO.
True. I had a part discussing the macro vs non macro option but the video was already a little long winded. So the 3.0 has a straight fitting on the ASA and a angled regulator collar. So the macro really isn't in the way. But if you are a macro hater and want the pro shaft cutoff adjustment get a 3.1 highly recommended on my end.
Talking about Craigslist guns; I recently picked up a cheap Etek 4 off of Kijiji. Seemed like it was in good shape, but I aired it up and it's leaking from the poppet valve, and it kicks like a shotgun when I fire it. This is my first Venture into PE guns so I'm hoping I can rectify the problems without much issue. . . I was just really hoping I wouldn't have to tear the gun apart at all to get it working properly.
Fixed it. The cup seal had a piece of metal embedded in it, so I threw in the replacement cup seal and tossed a new o-ring on the front of the housing. . . Easy peasy.
I agree the geo 3 being a great marker especially for people who like to tune the marker. I'm lazy , so I'm a gamma core guy. That said, I owned vanquish GT and a vanquish 1.5 with a v16 boot , yes the v16 bolt is smooth but vanquish parts are trash, I was constantly repairing both my vanquish constantly for minor issues. Only reason I sold them.
@@WillBallForSoup It's cheaper to just buy a geo 3 with IV than buying a regular geo 3 and looking for an IV. I've been on the search for 2 weeks and this seems to be the best option.
Bought a cs1 last year after getting back into the game for the first time since 2006, I fell in love with the IV Core, but the cs1 was a little too long for me, so I decided to treat myself and get a geo4, but if wasn't in a good spot with my money was 100% looking at a 3.1 or 3.5 with IV core, they still shoot so nice.
Hey bro I need to buy my first marker but I’m very for the macdev clone 5 used or the 3.0-3.5 used I don’t know which is the best of this three markers
Finally found a marker. 220 for an ego etek2. Had to put on an asa and a macroline but 270 all in for my first entry level marker doesn’t seem bad to me. 😂
@WillBallForSoup im an old boomer paintballer... grew up on Spyder TL/SE and an Automag back in the late 90s...20 years later im getting back into the sport bc there if a field right down the street from me. So i am looking for a new marker and I loved your video. I have a question about buying a used Geo 3 offline..How can i tell if the Solenoid is about to die or not on the thing, and it sounds like replacing a geo3 Solenoid is super expensive..???? i found a geo 3 w/ IV on a SBT for $550 that i want to buy, it has a big scratch on the barrel but in your video it says repalce barrel anyway so im not to worried about it...but i am worried about buying something that i have no idea how hard its been usedd and shot and when the internals are gonna shit the bed... Any advice? Also can you provide a link to the ultra dye barrel or the oldschool freak barrel you mention in the video? the dye barrel i saw was like $140 so dont think its the same you mention in vid, thx for what you do
$550 is overpriced even with IV so I wouldn't be too aggressive with the purchase. I'd try and get him down to. $475-5 shipped. As far as noid health. I just glance over breach wear and overall condition. If the guns beat to shit the noid doesn't have too many years left
Ay yo Scotty what's the best high end marker over 500$ though? Lmao jk dude. Just copped a CS1.5 in pretty good condition for a decent price and I much prefer it than any other gamma core or gamma like marker. Buddies at the field pushing me to grab a CSR because of the "rarity" or something like that. Don't really care too much right now for rarity of a marker though, I just want a nice IV core.
@@WillBallForSoup all preference at that point, held my friends LV with that skinny grip setup and although the shot is amazing, I couldn’t get past the grips lol. I like the thicc boi of the CS1.5 grips. Even the Luxe grips nicely too imo, it’s just that the time I’ve spent playing with the IV core, I start to love it more and more.
I'm a retired baller but all of my guns that I bought were second hand. Never decided spend as much as a car on a toy. I had a lot of timmies but my favorite gun was my geo 2.1 that gun I never had any problems with it.
The problem with GEO, if the noid goes out, which it will, you will have a hard time finding one. When you do find one, it is going to cost you upwards of 150 dollars. Not worth it.
I picked up a Geo 3 for $325 shipped last fall. Then a few months of looking I was able to trade for a Iv Core. I still haven't used it out on the field. I can't wait to light some foos up 😆✌.
The 170r used is under $500 and a great option now. Still love GEO3 and 3.5. used LV1.5 is also right around $500. You can always hit me on IG and ask if something is a good deal or not
I say I like paintball but I only played one game in my entire life. I have an older paintball marker and I'm buying things for it so I can use it on a field.
The EGO11 I tried had that shitty issue where the velocity wouldn't go over 250/260. I got a good deal on it, something like $325 iirc. Sold it locally for 350 lel. I see a lot of EGO11 not being able to chrono a true 300
