Was this video helpful? Then please hit that subscribe button, it does AMAZING things for my channel. You can also buy a funny T-shirt from me at www.redbubble.com/people/plus...
This is NOT sponsored, just for others in positions like myself, where slow DSL might be your only option, but now you can get unlimited phone and home internet for $25 through Visible (with a prior phone) and this video shows how to bypass the 5 mb/s limit the have on hotspot speeds.
Get Visible Unlimited LTE/5G service with hotspot for $25 a month using a party with over 4 users, Just use this one with over 12,000 users : visible.com/p/Reddit_Upvote
Use PairVPN as seen in the video to bypass the 5 mb/s speed limit on hotspot connections, giving yourself up to 200 mb/s at home. over wifi. You need the PairVPN app on your phone and on the machines connecting to your hotspot. It creates a vpn between the device and phone, making the phone think the data is local, bypassing the limits.
Many mobile services offer a hotspot feature, Visible includes unlimited hotspot connections for free with it $25/month service if you join a party plan, one is linked up top, very easy to do.... The catch is the the hotspot is limited to 5 mbs, like all other providers people are looking for work arounds,
Many tricks are listed all over, change the ttl, get a vpn, etc... the ttl thing rarely works. VPN can be expensive and you have to set it up properly. You can use PDANet, but that has a data cap, unless you buy the full version for $8 or so, or go with a cracked version
Then I came across PairVPN...
Nice.. You enable hotspot on your phone, and connect your devices to that hotspot like usual, install and turn on the pairvpn app on your phone and check the server tab. Then download a client for each of your machines, such as the windows that I did here. You select VPN client and it gives you a number which you input into the server box on your phone and done

Thank you! As you mentioned in your vid, all the other hacks don't work (or seem too complicated to even attempt.) This method is quick, easy - and works! I actually have the phone tethered to a gl.inet travel router (their cheapest model.) No configuration of the router needed - it was plug/play. My speeds soared from the 5mps cap to 40mps (matching what I get on my phone. Great channel - and many kudos!

I missed the "hotspot plan" part of the question. Yes, PairVPN will work, it makes the data from all connected devices appear to be coming from the phone, not the hotspot, so that data gets the same speeds and limits as you get directly on your phone. However, if your phone plan has an overall data limit, then PairVPN can't do anything about that.

@@HicSvntDracones - He means there's a limit when using the normal hotspot on the phone without any added apps otherwise the data is unlimited so if PairVPN does what you saying (hiding that data is coming/going from a PC through the phone data) then in theory it bypasses his problem and gives him unlimited hotspot. That is strange, is it a custom rom or anything? The PairVPN website says to download the APK if it isn't available on the play store pairvpn.com/bin/ installing the APK is fairly easy, just need to enable "unknown sources" then open the apk in the file manager, should have a built in package manager, if not you can download a package manager off the play store. Just google "how to install an apk file" APK files are like .exe files for windows, installer files.

To make sure I'm picking up what you're putting down.. With the method in the video, My ISP can still monitor my phones hotspot data usage but they cannot cap the bandwidth? If my ISP sees that I've used up my monthly 50gigs of high speed data & they throttle me to 3mbps, with the VPN I would continue to receive high speed data or better? Sooo.. i could save some $ by downgrading my "unlimited hotspot" data plan from 50Gigs of high speed data per month to 15Gigs of high speed data per month & it wouldn't matter?
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
You WANT an unlimited plan, you don't need a hotspot plan.. If oyu have an unlimited data plan, with say 5 Gb of hotspot data , limited to 5 mb/s after that... you will actually get unlimited data and speed hotspot. If you have a 50 Gb Data plan, instead of unlimited, you will still use up that 50 Gb, Pair VPN only hides the hotspot data and makes it appear to be mobile data coming directly from your phone, like if you are using it, you still get dinged mobile data, you really want unlimited mobile data, but you don't need a hotspot plan at all. So the best way to use this, is to get an unlimited data plan, from like Visible or Total for $30 a month, with no additional hotspot plan... and you will have basically unlimited hotspot. That is of course, considering you can't get affordable internet, If you are eligible for Verizon 5G Home Internet, then go for that instead.

@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
Yeah, run Pairvpn on your Verizon phone, install pairvpn on your tablet. Start the hotspot, connect the tablet to the phone's hotspot, then start pairvpn on each device. The client (your tablet) will give you a code when you first try to connect, enter that on your Verizon phone, and that'll be it. You do have to reconnect them each time you connect, but don't have to use the codes. I did just make a new updated video on this, if you look at my channel, should be the newest video. It is a bit more in-depth, but PairVPN is pretty simple.

So I have a spare iPhone with visible that I’m trying to use as my hotspot for a ps5 and tv, what would my steps be the same? I downloaded VPN on my iPhone that’s the hotspot. I’m lost after that lol
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
I don't have a PS5, nor have I used an Apple product in years, so not sure on the best solution, I don't think PS5 has a VPN client. The best thing to do is to run hotspot to a PC with a VPN on the PC, either PairVPN on the Iphone, or another VPN service like ExpressVPN or CyberGhost. Then, share the Internet connection from the PC to the PS5, you can use hotspot in WIndows 10 to make a wifi hotspot from your PC to your PS5, or use internet connection sharing over Ethernet ( www.tomshardware.com/how-to/share-internet-connection-windows-ethernet-wi-fi ) Any connection coming into the PC will be added to the VPN tunnel on the PC, and will also bypass throttling. In the end, might be best to run a router from your PC for your internal network, or get a Router capable of running OpenWRT, DDWRT, or Tomato firmware, and running OPENVPN or another VPN service on it, on it. nordvpn.com/flashrouters/ You can also buy actual VPN Routers without needing to flash firmware. These make a VPN connection and everything that is connected to them runs through that VPN. Best thing is to find one with LTE capabilities, or get a LTE modem, but you can find a way to do it with Iphone, (A WISP router would work, basically a router with a Wifi WAN connection) which goes to VPN ROuter, where all your devices connect to. Your goal is just to get the PS5 on a VPN somehow, but it doesn't look like the PS5 itself has a VPN client that runs on it, but you might find one with enough searching, and Smart DNS is NOT a VPN, a lot of places are passing off Smart DNS as VPN for PS5, it isn't, you HAVE to encrypt all your traffic. Sorry for making you read so much, just not a simple answer, to many options, but that is the gist of it. Here is a good page on VPN Routers thebestvpn.com/set-up-router-vpn/
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
Another option is to find a router that supports Mobile Tether via USB. This Router claims to do USB Tether with iphone www.amazon.com/GL-iNet-GL-AR750S-Ext-pre-Installed-Cloudflare-Included/dp/B07GBXMBQF and they have a tiny $28 version here : www.amazon.com/GL-iNet-GL-AR300M16-Ext-Pre-Installed-Performance-Programmable/dp/B07794JRC5/ref=sr_1_16?crid=195A3EGEB2ZHZ It also runs OpenWRT - LEDE, which means you should be able to run a VPN on it, or at least it says it supports VPN. OpenVPN seems to be slow, at 12-20 mbs or so, but Wireshark seems to support well over 100 mbs. You just need to do the research on which VPNS offer the best speeds via router. I don't know why OpenVPN is so slow on these routers, but they might just have slow processors. Anyways, that is what to look for, Router with USB mobile tethering and iphone support, with VPN client

I’m trying to do this for my Xbox and I can’t get a pairing code. Please help
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
On the PairVPN client, you click on the connection and it gives you a code. You open the PairVPN server, which usually runs on your phone, but any device can be a client or a server, that is where you enter the code. Does Xbox have a piarvpn client? I'm not sure if they do. Most likely you need to connect your phone to a pc via USB tether (the best way) with Pairvpn on the PC and phone. Then, create a hotspot to share your internet on the PC, then connect the xbox to the PC wifi. You can also use 2 phones, but that is harder. I have a video coming out soon that goes over these options. You can also try any other VPN that the Xbox supports, while connected to the hotspot, that will bypass speed limits, but I have noticed that a lot of providers can detect regular VPNs running and using a lot of data, then you get a warning email, not sure if your provider is one of those.

@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
Yeah, TTL doesn't work anymore. Runnin any VPN normally does bypass limits, but you get a notice from your provider pretty fast that you are being bad. . I have never seen pairVPN not work as long as your entire phone isn't limited. Are you sure you are connecting to the phone server on the hotspot and it is making a connection? The Client on the PC will say VPN Connected, list a tunnel, and then should show bytes in and out along with the IP of the client and IP of the server. The server app on the phone will also show connected. I have seen people hit the little on switch in the client, and it slides over, but sits trying to make a connection without actually connecting, they had to restart the server app as it can occasionally crash on certain phones, but rare.

So I'm not sure what this means can I get unlimited high speed wifi with my Xbox since I can't download apps like that on it and I also use a Verizon jetpack for my internet my phone hS hotspot but only 25 gigs will this somehow give my jetpack unlimited high speed internet
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
This won't work with a Jetpack. Basically, this works with phones only. So, lets say you have phone service with unlimited data, but, most providers limit your hotspot speed to about 5 mb/s, to prevent people from bogging down the network with porn. You can use PairVPN to bypass that speed limit, but PairVPN needs to run a server app on one device and a client app on another. So you need a device, like a phone, capable of running the server app. Now, all this does is bypass the hotspot limit. You can NOT get speeds any faster than what your phone has..If your phone plan has a speed limit, or a data cap, like 25 GB of data transfer, then you can not bypass that, the only thing PairVPN is doing is creating a encrypted tunnel between your phone and PC, so that it looks like the internet connection from your PC is just coming from your phone. You also need the client device to run PairVPN, so can't use an Xbox the standard way... However, you can still connect your Xbox to your phone via hotspot without using PairVPN, you will just be limited to 5mb/s or whatever hotspot limit your provider uses, and 5mb/s is usually enough to game with. In the past, you could use any VPN, and it does still work, so just by running a VPN on your xbox, you will bypass the speed limit, BUT.. some companies, like Visible and Verizon have found ways of detecting the VPN, and I have gotten warnings that my service will be disconnected if I don't stop. They can NOT detect PairVPN.. If you NEED the full 150+ mbs from your 4G/5G phone service to your Xbox, then the best way to do that is to connect your phone to a PC via USB, and run PairVPN on the PC and phone. THEN setup a hotspot of the PC to share your internet connection wirelessly, and connect the Xbox to the PC hotspot. that will get around it. Your xbox connects to the PC wirelessly, which is sharing the pairvpn connection from your phone. I have been meaning to expand on this video, and I almost had it done, then the new issue with them detecting other VPN services popped up, making the video uselessly I should have the new video up in a week

@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
Should have over 35 reviews, be sure it is the right app. PairVPN is very safe, as far as no adware or anything comes with it, but it doesn't provide you with any safety, in terms of masking your location, IP, and etc, the tunnel is only between PC and Phone. It is also a very new app, it use to be part of PdaNet (I believe). I have actually tried other VPN's, and not long after using them, I got a warning email that I was possibly abusing my service, and could have it terminated (using Visible) I went back to PairVPN and haven't had a single warning from Visible since. I have been using PairVPN for just over 6 months now. It isn't "perfect", as it is still in development, and on Windows 11, I occasionally have issues where my internet cuts off while on the VPN, if I turn off the VPN, my internet works, and this is a WIndows security issue, as a VPN shouldn't really allow internet access, that is a security issue, and using a VPN to access the Internet isn't what they were designed for originally. So I have to stop and start the PairVPN Client on my PC maybe once every 3-4 days, as restarting the app fixes it. It was a bit worse, happening once a day, but the last beta update reduced that a lot. A lot of the lower reviews are also due to the extra step of needing to install a client on the PC, but that is what makes it work so well.

You can use this as regular phone service even with the hotspot turned on. Once you turn on the hotspot, you can connect your PC to the wifi ssid you set on your phone hotspot and get internet access without the client, you are just limited to 5 mb/s, at least with Visible. Other services have different limits, some have no limits, but Visible is a 5 mb/s limit over hotspot, more than enough to download the PairVPN client for your PC. The PairVPN service then lets you bypass the hotspot limit and get over 100 MB/s to your PC on Visible, and over 1Gb/s on Verizon 5G, not sure what AT&T or T-Mobile offer, basically, whatever speed your phone gets. It does this by creating a VPN tunnel between the phone and PC, making all the traffic appear to come from the phone directly, which has no limit.

PairVPN doesn';t need DNS, it is only a tunnel between the computer and phone, no domains involved. Your computer needs DNS though to access the internet, and it will get it automatically from the phone, well, rather it gets it from the hotspot running on the phone automatically when it gets an IP, through DHCP. You can change your DNS though in the Windows or Apple Network settings. If you aren't getting an IP or DNS, then make sure your network is set to automatically obtain an IP

@@buncakciku I've never tried with 2 phones. Why run PairVPN on a second phone? Unless it doesn't have a 4G/5g . You want to watch how many devices you use, just because you bypass speed limits, doesn't mean your provider won't throw a fit over excessive data use due using multiple devices, just something to think about. A lot of providers do have a data use policy, even though they say "unlimited" , if you start using a lot more data than other people, it will be suspicious, so also totally don't start downloading or seeding torrents, and etc also. If it does keep giving you issues, run the hotspot and pairvpn on the fastest phone, be sure to set a key for the wifi hotspot and keep wifi off on the other phone I've seen PairVPN crash at times on the latest Android releases, though it is rare, only seen it happen about 5 times in the last year on the latest Android Beta. Android apps are really phone dependent, which is why some apps don't even show up in the play store for certain phones, that is the problem with Android, you have TONS of different hardware with TONS of different builds of Android running tons of custom software, running at TONS of different screen DPI's, processor architectures, etc, really amazing it works so well. Need to make sure you use a well known phone, like a Pixel, Galaxy, One Plus, Moto, etc on a recent build to avoid issues, but is that way with any android app. You can also switch around which device is the server and which is the client, so try running pairvpn as a server on a PC< and a client on the phone.

Anyone figure out a possible way to get a higher upload? 🤔

Try USB tethering, It is faster than wifi, but speed is ultimately provider based... , but if you have a phone that has esim capability, you can get a Verizon 30-day free unlimited phone/data trial by downloading the Verizon app, and I have clocked my service at 2GB down and 800Mb up when on UWB, and 300-900mb down and 80-300 up when on 5G, The LTE service runs like 50-250 mb, just download the Verizon app. The nice thing, is you can just keep making new accounts with a new email address each month..

Does not work
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
Make sure your pc has the client connected to the server, it only works when they are actively connected, which you need to manually do on each connection, it isn't automatic. . You can't get speeds beyond what your provider offers also, so if your phone data is limited or on a certain amount of data per month, this won't bypass that. This only bypasses the "hotspot speed limit", for when devices connected to a mobile hotspot are limited, (usually to 5 mbs) giving you similar speeds as to what your phone gets,. It does work on all US providers currently., run a speed test on your phone. Your PC should get close to the same speed while connected to the phone via pairvpn.

Yes and no, I have a newer video that explains it, but basically, everytime I have tested a VPN that isn't between only the PC and hotspot, I got a notice from my provider that they suspected I was breaking my terms of service and would be terminated if I continued. See, PairVPN doesn't send a tunnel through the Internet, it stops at the phone, and providers can detect a tunnel like NordVPN, then when your data use jumps all of a sudden, they know exactly what you are doing..they can not detect PairVPN.

Nope, worst case is you forget to turn it on, and use up too much data, then you might get a warning, but that is the extent of it. They literally can't see the hotspot data while connected to PairVPN and cant tell you are using a VPN

for hotspot modem roters?
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
No, only for Android connection sharing over wifi, technically a vpn will prevent throttling when using a hardware hotspot, but PairVPN requires android to run and only creates a tunnel between a device and an android phone. So you will need either a VPN that can run on the hotspot, or past the hotspot, such as your own VPN on a AWS server, or a paid vpn service. I am not really sure how throttling works with hardware hotspots, since those usually work with unlimited data plans.

@@outoftime788 Definitely get a different VPN, LTE is more than capable of handling 4k.. (well, with a US media provider, streams in other countries canbe different) at least it should be, if not, then go get Visible, they have somenew plans now, $30 unlimited LTE & 5G and $45 Unlimited 5G wideband, I usually get just about 1GB/s when connected to 5G wideband, where normal 5G is a few hundred mb/s and LTE is 100 or so. . ExpressVPN caps off at about 475 mb/s, though CyberGhost is faster, but you won't notice it with LTE which should be around 100-120 mb/s. OpenVPN on a AWS EC2 instance should also far exceed LTE speeds, they are throttled to 5 GB/s

You're too smart and too fast i still don't get it. Do i need to set up my computer with the same VPN while downloading movies using my VPN on my mobile ? I want to also bypass my HOT SPOT CAP LIMIIT from MINT MOBILE. They give me 40GB monthly calling it unlimited (lol) but they throttle it and then throttle my WIFI HOT SPOT after 10GB. There has to be a simple way. I'm born in the 60s and I'm more savy to tech than most of my friends yet I'm not catching what you're explaining. Thank you. JK

Don't think of it as a normal VPN. A VPN encrypts all the data that goes through it and no one can see what the data is, so to prevent your provider from knowing that you are using hotspot data on your computer, we use a VPN between your computer and phone, preventing the provider from seeing any data coming or going from your computer, the provider then thinks the data is coming and going from your phone only, not your computer, and nothing is limited or throttled. Anyways, you don't need to do anything regarding the short VPN, it is all handled automatically simply install the app called PairVPN on your phone and on your computer, then connect them together like it shows in the video, Connect your PC to the phones hotspot, turn on PairVPN on your phone as server, then turn on PairVPN on your computer as a client, they should connect , and that is it. You can still use your regular VN if you want, you only need to do that if you are stealing movies, since it prevents them from seeing your IP address and suing you., though I do not use a VPN and I have never been sued for stealing stuff :)

how do I change TTL settings
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
You don't need to, not with a VPN, plus Android doesn't use hop limits to identify hotspot data anymore, but if you want to, from command prompt it is netsh int ipv4 set glob defaultcurhoplimit=65 just change 65 to whatever you want it to be. If it isn't for hotspot stuff, and just for pings, then it is "-i" in the ping command to set the TTL.

@@HicSvntDracones I'm using a 4g lte router from china
@HicSvntDracones
@HicSvntDracones Год назад
@@jamessimmons5469 OK, that makes sense then, they can count how many hops a connection has, so if the router is reporting a number of hops and they see some traffic with a different number, that says it is an additional device, then it throttles. They don't use that with Android anymore, or rather, you can't bypass with just a hop change, but changing your hops to 65 might work, though you might need to do that on the router.. Look up the specs and see if OpenWRT or DDWRT works with that router, then you can do a lot more with it, and would just need to issue this at telnet or ssh prompt 'iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o vlan2 -j TTL --ttl-set 65 ' It still isn't guaranteed though... Really, best thing is just to get a subscription for ExpressVPN.. NordVPN and Cyberghost also work, and you don't lose any speeds, they are fairly cheap also. If you don't want to go that route you can install OpenVPN on a OpenWRT router, IF your router supports OpenWRT firmware. The other option is to get a free cloud service, AWS has a free tier for life, then you can setup an OpenVPN server or use Algo, though OpenVPN will be the easiest. You can google how to setup a persoanl openvpn server on AWS to get a how-to, tons of them, basically, just need an EC2 instance, and the free tier is more than powerful enough, might even be able to get a openvpn image ready to load for EC2
