In this video, we delve into the fascinating world of volumetric calculations using the REACH RS2 Base and Rover over Local NTRIP Station. Whether you're involved in construction, mining, or land surveying, accurately measuring volumes is crucial for project planning and resource management.
One important aspect to remember when performing volume calculations is the need to recreate what you see on the terrain or site back in the office. By doing so, you can create a highly accurate 3D model that reflects the real-world conditions. This accuracy ensures that the volumes calculated through triangulations truly represent what is present on the site.
In this tutorial, we demonstrate the usage of the Reach RS2 base and rover in conjunction with an NTRIP station. By utilizing the Reach RS2 base as our own local NTRIP station, we can establish a precise real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning system. This enables us to achieve centimeter-level accuracy in our measurements, ensuring reliable and trustworthy volumetric calculations.
Join us as we walk you through configuring the NTRIP station, and performing volumetric calculations using the collected data. We'll guide you step-by-step, providing useful tips and insights along the way.
Whether you're new to volumetric calculations or looking to enhance your existing workflow, this video is a valuable resource.

Hi there. How do you find the volume when you go back to the office? Can I not be worked out on site or do you need other software? Do you have a video for this? Thanks

Hello guys! Aftwards, shouldn't be converted to local coordinates instead of using UTM coordinates to take measurements and volumes? Or, shouldn't use a calibrated system to get this job done? Thanks!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out! A local coordinate system was selected when the project into which the data will be collected was created. In this case the local coordinate system was Hartebeesthoek94/ Lo29. Whether to use a calibrated system or not depends on the specification of the job. In this case it was not a requirement to work on a calibrated system as a local survey was done. Hope this helped!
