Yes,there are 3 methods - Direct method Assumed mean Step deviation All the 3 methods give the same means value for the given data...we use different methods depending on the numbers ..if the numbers are very big ,we use assumed mean or step deviation.. Pls let me know if you have any questions...

This method is there in a subject called "Statistical Analysis" for MCA PG course. But u r already teaching to 10th students of ICSE. Our education system 🤦🏻‍♂️
