I hope this has helped you with your calibration. As of now I cannot find any information on how to do this with out the remote, I even called a dealer and they did not know. I noticed mine today wasn’t staying in the correct spot I’ll do this tomorrow thanks. Question why don’t you have your puck up front by the trolling motor?

I have absolutely no room for that. I asked that same question when I got mine and the boat store said that it did not matter. All the new boats on the lot we installed in the back corner where nobody walks. It still works. It kept me going and did a great job today. Thanks for watching and hope that answers your question.

Hey boss, I got a powerdrive with ipilot I don’t have that sensor cal option under settings. Any advice?

The only thing I could think of is to make sure your software is up to date. Unfortunately I do not have that remote anymore, I sold my boat and have a digital remote so I cannot look at it to give you any info. There is an option to update software and I think it is for both the trolling motor and possibly the remote. I wish I could help more, but if you figure it out, please put the fix in here. Why is your heading sensor arrow pointed to the side of your boat?

At the point I shot this, I did not realize it was. I have fixed that and is now pointing forward. The steps are the same and the way it was pointing is only an issue in rougher water. In the calm water that I had, it was fine, but yes, it is supposed to be pointing towards the front of the boat.

I might have looked at it wrong but the arrow on the puck should face the bow as straight as possible. It looked like yours was facing the side of the boat.

I had not heard that. the boat place just told me to put it on. I will check that out, but on a side note it has not messed with anything on my boat as I have had it that way for 3 years! 😂 I will check on that though, so thanks for bringing that to my attention.

This video was great, it was straight to the point. thank you... And to add to @jameswanke8404 comment, this is from minn kota's page The Heading Sensor needs to be mounted on a flat level surface with the arrow pointed parallel with the keel-line of the boat. It should not be mounted upside down and it needs to be at least 2 feet (24 inches) away from the trolling motor, anything ferrous, and anything that can cause interference. So that could be part of your issue... Possibly. All the best and hope to see more.

My Ultrex will shut off spot lock sometimes , it does that when it seems to be struggling to hold to spot , it will cut off when it can't turn any further , any suggestions

You might try an update on the software. Other than that, check and see if there is anything in the way. I have noticed my handle will sometimes fall in the area of the foot pedal and when my spot lock cuts out, it is because it cannot go down any further because the handle is in the way and it will just shut off. I have to pull it out of the way and hit spotlock again. Hope that helps. Good question and thank for answering.

It apparently is not facing the front. Had it that way for 3 years and no problem. I think if I hit the N button it might go North which would be right or left. Ha ha.

@@AsleepAtTheReel unscrew that puck and turn arrow to the front, recalibrate, and then set the offset, that comes up at the end. But before you do any of that,!take your remote, be next to wi-fi, update your remote and trolling motor head. It will all work better after that. Kentucky

Mine points to the front, but there is also a way to do an offset correction. Could be that the the proper offset correction was done at install so the sideways puck is not an issue.

Oh, and the N button just keeps you going the way you were already going. There's a legacy and advanced mode which are different in how they do that. I troll cranks for crappie a lot and love my N button on legacy mode especially when I'm fishing alone.

@@flatpicker75 Unfortunately I am the one that did the install. I think I know what happened and that is I installed it correctly, but when I was changing the trolling motor batteries I noticed that the screw on one side was in the crack so I had to take it out to take that entire panel off the boat. I remember moving it and not even thinking about the N. After that, I calibrated the compass again as I needed to for the video and well it still worked fine. Not really sure but I have moved it back and re-calibrated.
