@@fanofoldfans9238 I ended up buying this same speedometer but with different firmware and set it using my circumference and it's spot on. It's was only like 30 bucks and plugs right in.
You could try deliberately mis calibrate the Speedo so it trips up faster than its supposed to until you reach your target, then recalibrate it correctly.
my difficulty is that when I do the procedure of holding down the button on the back of the speedometer for 5 seconds instead of the screen that comes out to you in the video, an ID comes out to me to enter and I can access the menu only with 888 but unfortunately the functions are very limited. How can I do to avoid this problem? Are there other ID codes to enter? I kindly ask you for help.
@@SunsJoel My fuel gauge did the same thing go it into the Setting mode there’s five different settings you have to hold the button down to go through them once you get to number 4 Setting at the bottom you should see A 2 change that number to 4 And it should work it did for me I just did it
Where can I buy this speedometer? for my tao tao crusier it came 3 gauge chrome so I bought one these universal one eBay but the wiring harness on the back of this 9 pin female and bike bike end is also female. Is the wiring harness on these different? Any help will be great.
These are the same universal ones you buy on ebay. If you are gonna replace your factory cluster with one of these you are gonna have to wire it in. I put one on an off road buggy, it's really not that hard. Takes some trial and error to do the calculations to get the speedo reading correct (and double checking it with a gps). My gas tank doesn't have a sender and that was trial and error to get a resistor to fool the gauge to make it quit flashing empty tank all the time.
I went through the entire calibration more than once, correct setting, but now does not change from zero MPH. Before calibration was off by 10 MPH on highway. Any ideas? was working before calibration, just not correct, now zero, RPM works fine.
The first thing I would check is the pickup attached where your front disk brake caliper is. There is a magnetic sensor that picks up the revolutions on the front disk brake rotor. After that I would check all the electrical connections that feed into the back of the speedo. Hope that helps.
Ryan Foust Great question! We had a fellow rider ask the same thing at the shop today. You are in MPH it just seems like km because the speed is so far off. You are putting way more miles on the odometer with the Speedo incorrect. By calibrating you will have more accurate speed and miles indicated on the odometer. I hope this helps!!! 👍
The distance from the center hub to the magnet in mm (Here is about 120mm) . distance (120mm) X 3.1416 = circumference the magnet rotates (377). The number 5 is a fuel sensor calibration. Calibration #1 0 ohms=full tank #5 0 ohms=empty tank (that's why it blinks) #2 might mean 80 ohms is full tank. The last digit is cylinder count or number of magnets, this varies between manufactures. Finally other models have "5 tables" to set up. It is really a crap shoot which model you will get in the mail.
