Today we are going to teach you my recipe for Dilly Beans (Pickled Green Beans) so you can stock your shelves with this yummy pickled addition.
My grandmother was famous for her dilly beans. She loved to make them and we loved to eat them. She would make anywhere from a mild to a super spicy pickled green bean. I like to go somewhere in the middle with my favorite pepper; chipotle. It is mildly hot with a smoky flavor and somehow still manages to be a little sweet.

we have a local spice store that grinds everything fresh and I love buying my chipotle powder in bulk there... YUM...it is really good in fruits too

How long would I have to process quart jars if I did them??🙂

When you are changing jar size from a pint to a quart you just add 5 minutes to your processing time.

Could you use some zinc tablets in your jars to preserve the green colour

Wait, your jars were in the oven?! I thought I had to keep them in water bath at 180F?

Welllll, technically the manufacturer of the jars recommends wet heat instead of dry heat. So it is better to use the water bath. I just have learned this not quite right habit that I can't seem to break. (It is just so easy.) Apparently, the dry heat can increase chances of breaking.
