@@riham8098 once the first few days are over and the pain has subsided, it honestly doesn’t hurt too bad. I’d say sometimes I wake up with the brackets pinching my gum and making ulcers but that can be avoided by putting wax on that bracket. It’s something you have to dedicate yourself to make sure you maintain good oral hygiene, but I would recommend getting braces 100% it’s so worth it
I always use the timer they give me it’s my best friend while brushing my teeth 😂😂 because I got braces my oral hygiene was has been the best it’s ever been!
just got four teeth extracted!!! and im getting my braces in 2 weeks ahhh it's so nerve-wracking edit: I got my braces for 2 weeks now and it's been great so far!!noticed some minor changes in my front teeth and it wasn't so bad at all:)
getting four teeth extracted as well, 2 are already pulled out and i already have braces for my upper teeth. will go back to the dentist next week for the last two and braces in the lower teeth. to be honest, getting the teeth pulled out hurt more than the process of applying the braces xD
I just got my braces today 🎉😊 I had some discomfort with poking wires at the back but I got the wax and it’s helping. This video helped me apply the wax. Thanks 🙏🏽
I'm going to get my braces soon..too nervous about pain and struggles after getting them 😰and also excited for the beautiful result in future😄.. I think this video will help me for future reference.. Thank you. Edit: I got my braces yesterday😄 I was scared to death but actually it doesn't hurt at all.. But yeah I could feel some pressure and uncomfortable mouth.. It's bearable guys...😁..
It doesn’t hurt getting the braces on but the second and first they are the worst you will start feeling pain in about a week or so or a month you will be your normal self
Getting my braces in two days and I have NO idea that there was specific mechanisms and everything was different ! Well now that I know, I’ll be prepared. :)
Thank you for the review Doc. i just got my braces and i dont like the pain after the installation. My teeth are kinda tense and i feel pain especially when there is cold. This video is helpful for my aftercare 😀
My orthodontist only gave me an orthodontic toothbrush and a wax. No timer or flosser. I'm using my old water flosser for now till I buy the floss thread and threader.
Got my self-ligating braces 2 days ago, so far so good. I felt & still feel no pain just some pressure on my teeth. However having food particles stick in the braces is so annoying. I just don't know how I'm supposed to eat in public while having to pick my teeth all the time.
When I get my braces on in 4 days I will begin a diet😂😂 because I don't want to floss I'm scared they will brake omg thank you so much for the information👍
I just got my braces yesterday, i am so excited about it. The ortho told me how to take care of my braces but i didn't learn how to floss my teeth. this video helped me alot thank you soo much 😊👍 I got a question, why a doctor says the process of it takes one and half year other one says just a year? Why 2 doctors has two different opinions? because i consulted with two different doctors that's why i asked.
Just like anything else, different doctors will have different opinions! Sorry I can't be more specific but estimating treatment time is not an exact science:)
hello! thanks for such an informative video. i got braces on 4 days ago and i find that my molars don’t really line up like they used to when i bite down. i’m not sure if the actual braces are in the way or if my teeth are already shifting. should i be concerned? i know its probably difficult to answer since you don’t know my specific case but i appreciate the info nonetheless!
i got 4 tooth extracted 5 days ago for braces and now i have ulcers. its hurtful for me to brush my teeth,is there any other way to help me maintain my oral hygiene? and my next question is how do i remove these ulcers, they're too hurtful i can withstand them anymore :((
I just got my braces as well. The first few days I couldn't eat. I just eat soup or smoothie. The worst thing is, I got ulcers and irritations. The more it hurt to eat. Gargling with salt water or any antiseptic mouthwash helps. The braces keeps rubbing my check that causes irritations. Dental wax helps.
Everyone who is getting braces on take selfie on your phone before putting them on check the difference the day the put on and removed I heard that the face of your shape changes
Remember many children are going through a growth spurt during braces too, so they would look different over that time anyway, BUT proper orthodontic treatment can effect things like smile, lip posture/protrusion etc, for better or worse, depending on the and skills of the doctor!
I got my braces 2 day's ago but my dentist didn't give me any instructions this video is very helpful for me ,doctor please i have a question ,when ever i eat something even soft food ,my teeth's do touch with my super and down braces ,is it oky because I'm fearing my braces will break down ,and should I tell to my ortho to fix my braces properly ,hope I will get reply from you thank you doctor
@@VeronicaSlaysss it will hurt for 2 week's to 3 week's after pain will be gone and you can take pain killer tablet like panadol or other now i have been 2 months with braces i don't feel anything no pain nothing but always avoid to hard and chewing food
@@drdougortho yh i did mistake now 2 months beginning with braces but only once time my bracket was broke now i know everything about braces and food which food i have to avoid and i feel oky now with braces
would it be okay not to floss the first few days? Cause i’ve been trying to floss but it hurts my teeth. Also the floss won’t go through my teeth. So is it okay?
I recently got my braces own and trust me it hurts bad and I can't even eat properly except boil items ,can u tell me how long will this pain stay or can I get any pain killers for pain related to teeth
flossing is hard with braces but the "platypus flosser" makes it easy. If you do it a few times a week and brush well and use a flouride rinse, you should be ok
@@drdougortho hey man. ive got another question if you dont mind. is it normal for my tongue to burn when using mouthwash? does that mean im using too much?
Honestly the food thing is all wrong, you can eat most foods as long as you're super careful when eating. I've ate a ton of foods like hard candies, chewy candies, hard foods, popcorn, apples(whole), carrots, and chips and I still haven't broken a single bracket
Look in the mirror closely by the gumline. The area most often missed is between the braces and the gums... so look at that area after brushing to make sure you don't see any plaque there.
Usually there would be no need to floss where the tooth was extracted because there is a big space now. Everywhere else should be ok to floss. But usually you don't want to disturb the actual extraction site for about a week so it won't start bleeding again.
Hi sir,I am getting my braces off on Tuesday but there is some gap in the middle of my top teeth. Will the gaps be closed after wearing the retainers or should I ask my dentist to tighten my braces. Please give me your advice.
There should be no spaces usually when your braces are removed UNLESS your orthodontist planned/wanted it that way. Spaces typically will not close after braces are off as a retainer will only hold them where they are, not improve them. Discuss this with your orthodontist before removal!
Hello doc I get my braces in march 2019 and in India In January 2020 I went to another country so after February due to COVID-19 dentist are closed here So my teeth is nice once but now one lower tooth is now moved opposite side of direction what should I do
I'm sorry you are in this situation. You need an orthodontist asap. Even if offices are closed they should be able to see you as an urgent or emergency visit if something is wrong.
