Very good video. My bird had a lump. They drained the fluid and given me 3 things to give him. An anti inflammatory, anti biotics and iodine. I have been holding my birds head between 2nd and 3rd finger. It seems I learned something watching your video.

Wonderful! I would add -- especially if wearing gloves -- be extremely careful NOT to press on the bird's chest at all. Gloves can make your fingers less able to feel that you are doing so, so be sure you are not squeezing or pressing on the chest. :)

I get so nervous and start shaking these budgies are so small and fragile. I got half his medicine in him but we took a break because im afraid i was stressing him out to much he fights and its hard to restrain him because i feal like im squeezing him.im sitting here shaking because of my nerves. Soon as he calm down in the next fifteen mins we will try the rest. Hes not tamed i adopted from someone who didnt tame him.My biggest problem is he wont open his mouth and he clamps it shut . I have to try to force it open without opening him and the mouth is so small its so easy to miss with the medicine. Treating him with antibiotics for a yeast infection .The picture on the begining of video i keep on my phone and keep it out so i try to hold him right. I found out grabing him how your suppose to hold him with the hand your gonna hold him works best so you dont have to reposition him and switch him to another hand.

How would I know if I messed up and he is choking or if it went down the wrong hole?

If I can ask, did the megabacteria go away? One of my birds has it and just started medication for that today.

Yes in her case it never came back. I've had budgies in the past where it came back but there it can be seen as my fault because I fed them sugary stuff. It is very important that your bird never ever eats sugar again because megabacteria profits from it and can come back because of it. It can also come back when the bird is stressed or has another illness that weakens its immune system. To make sure your bird recovers well I would also give it some millet. Millet gives it strength and is easy to digest. Also it contains fat and as megabacteria often comes along with weight loss it is very important that your bird doesn't lose too much weight. Weighing your bird regularly after the infection with megabacteria can help you seeing the early signs of a relapse of the illness. Weight loss is one of them. I hope your bird gets well soon!🍀
