An amazing trip to the Southern Cape in South Africa delivered some awesome species and BIG KOB or MULLOWAY as they call it elsewhere. After we targeted the KOB with Live bait and had some success we moved to the reefs for some scratching in not the best of conditions, but got some smaller fish species.

Excellent video. Well done. Can you perhaps comment on how you know where to look for mullet?

Mullet usually swim in the shallow waves. It helps if you have polarized glasses and stand and look for them in te waves or close to the beach and follow them. It is good if you have sardines to chop up and chum for them to get them where you are. If in a estuary they like being close to grass patches and drop offs and at night all the mullet comes to the surface in the estuaries and you can easily sea them with your headlamp or spotlight. It is a bit of a mission to get them at some places but the hard work pays off when using them as live bait.
