Guts u will have more luck catching flatheads with live bait. Bluegill shad skipjack etc

@@goodrums That's what I've always heard. I never really got around to trying it on the river that I fished, but I've tried live perch out on the lake with jugs with my dad and uncle many times. We only caught 3 flatheads out of all the catfish that we caught with jugs and live perch. We don't have skipjack here in Oklahoma, or at least in my area of Oklahoma. I'm willing to bet that part of my problem is location. My friend went gigging in the small river below that lake a year or so ago and claimed that he saw a lot of big flathead in a section of that river. But I've been too unhealthy to go fishing the last couple of years.

Only flathead I ever caught was about two pounds and ate a red shad zoom curly tail worm Texas rig fishing for bass. I was about twelve years old. I’m about thirty now and have been fishing for catfish for three years on the very same lake. I only catch channels and blues now.

If you watch kayak cat fishing he catches more flatheads on cutbait and big blues on live bait that will blow your mind. I always caught my big flatheads on big live bream myself

Fresh water drum meat is pretty much the same as a bass. Good eating.

I catch massive beeft drum here in Missouri they are in abundance here in the show me state

He was using worms and dead minnows. I used live minnows and had nothing.
