One thing I like to use is a rattling ned on a ned hook. That rattle slays them on the bed. Caught multiple bug fish on it last year.

I really appreciate the tips, tricks, and knowledge you guys are sharing. I am a old man who has never learned the art of a bait caster, I grew up with a zebco 33 and a fly rod in my hand. I am ok with a spinning reel, but the bait caster confounds me I spend more time pulling line than casting. Can we get a bait caster for dummies up in here?

Last weekend i dropped a rainbow trout swimbait on a bed and literally just let it lay flat. Irritated her so bad she went to pick it up and move it and i got her. 5 pounder 😂

I don't agree with throwing open treble hook baits for bedding bass personally because there is a better chance you'll just snag the bass in the side and hurt them. I've caught many big bass with hook sores in their sides from someone obviously snagging them and that's cheating and just fucked up. Not good ethics to teach new fishermen, you gotta respect bedding fish and not potentially kill them.
