It's so nice to see guys actually go through the baits, presentations, gear and location. And answering questions from guys here on RU-vid is extremely nice to see as well. I'm a new subscriber and fan.

Awesome video. My buddy and i was there the same day you guys were filming. We where down river and was catching walleyes and saugers on lipless cranks also. My best lure that day was a Xcalibur lipless crank red craw color. My buddy was using the same one on your video both worked great.

Was fishing last spring like this, 38 boats stacked on top of each other by 9:00 in the morning... funny how every fish you guys caught the boats moved closer... how did you guys get all the walleyes in the river under your boat? LOL. It's almost as funny to me as the guy that drills holes in the ice 3 feet from your shanty....tight lines!!

James, Have you guys thought about doing a Tennessee River walleye bite down here in TN? Walleye here are very large and our bites are usually a little ahead of the midwest bite. I live in Knoxville and have had one of my best quality walleye years last year. Going to get into this spring bite soon. Water temp hit 40degrees this past week. Also, where you are at I see current, it looks like you are at a dam where they are generating water. If so, what was the flow like?

Hey james in this video you used a #7 rippin rap and i noticed you had your snap connected to the ring and not directly to the bait. Does it matter where you hook your snap whether it be direct or the ring?
@InDepthOutdoorsTV
@InDepthOutdoorsTV 10 лет назад
James always connects to the ring with a snap. Could you tie direct to the ring? Absolutely. I know he uses the snap so he can quickly change color and sizes and using the snap doesn't seem to hurt the action of the lure in any way.

How deep were you fishing the Rip n Rap in the first 10 minutes of the show? Also did you bait the blade bait or just use it as is?

Hey guys awesome video! Would you mind sharing what kind of blade bait that is that you're using.
@InDepthOutdoorsTV

Hi Michael - the guys were using a blade bait Eric makes for his own personal use. That said every shop along the river sells a similar blade and they all work.

Would love to see how you would fish below Gavin's point dam in Yankton,SD These tactics work great everywhere but there. It's infested with spoonbill and every cast live bait or plastics is a nightmare

Is there a certain water temperature that you wait for in the spring before you do something like this?
@InDepthOutdoorsTV
@InDepthOutdoorsTV 10 лет назад
Temps of 38 - 42 degrees typically signal the start of this type of bite.

okay that was good to the second break I did learn a couple of things you could talk a little more about boat positioning with that style of fishing I have to think that its critical to get right.
@InDepthOutdoorsTV
@InDepthOutdoorsTV 7 лет назад
Hi, we replied to another one of your comments and in regards to boat placement you will want to again look for current seams.

Rapala's, or if we are talking plastics we use B Fish N Tackle Co.

Hey guys. What kind of rods were you guys using with the shimano ci4+?
@InDepthOutdoorsTV
@InDepthOutdoorsTV 10 лет назад
James was using a St. Croix 6'9" Medium Light Legend Extreme. Eric was using the same length and action but built the rod himself off of a St. Croix blank.

to third break good but talk more about the current breaks how to read them what to look for how the bait works in that particular current??? re you picking up specific fish on your electronics and fishing them?
@InDepthOutdoorsTV
@InDepthOutdoorsTV 7 лет назад
When you are fishing a river, you want to look for current seams. Fish will sit in the low current areas, and attack bait in high current areas. The area that separates these two types of currents is a "Current Seam." You will notice the slack water and the flowing water, that is ideally what you are looking for. There is no real "spot" in a river, there will be areas that hold fish, the river is consistently is moving and the water depth changes with changes from the dam, rain, etc. James talks about this a little at 5:49. For more info, check out www.in-depthoutdoors.com/.

Cant help but notice you didn’t fish the other bank... why?
@MrJowel8080

It's not a good idea to leave the fish do their job during spawn season? In Quebec, it is illegal to fish during that time from April 1st to May 9th.

But normal rivers have currents, and sunken trees, cold temperatures, etc

okay first break why not talk about presentation right away you gave me a depth but no speed ? are you counting the lure down of far behind the boat?
@InDepthOutdoorsTV
@InDepthOutdoorsTV 7 лет назад
We are fishing Rapala Rippin Raps as well as Blade Baits. More info at 5:29. Find the bottom, pop the bait up, and repeat. We are not necessarily fishing one specific depth, we are more or less covering water by casting and covering a variety of depths and flows.
