Finally got around subscribing. Been watching a lot of your videos. If I’m not slaying trout in real life I’m watching other people slay them on you tube. My wife i says I may have a problem. I don’t see it.

@Core Fishing when you are bouncing and retrieving is the jig staying in the water column or bouncing along the bottom?

Thanks for the advices bro! Do you recommend for my setup I got ugly stik 7’ ultra lite and recently paired it with an okuma cbf 1000, would it do alright casting and mini jigs on a 2lbs, 3lbs, 4lbs test? Also, what line would you recommend jigging, fluorocarbon or monofilament? Sorry for the noobie questions. New Sub here! 🤙

What brand are those natural (bare lead) jighead hooks? Does the 1/16 oz come with different size hooks? Or just one hook size? Great detailed video!
@corefishing1
@corefishing1 7 месяцев назад
I can’t remember the brand I use. All I know is I get some 1/16 and 1/32 oz jig heads off eBay by the 100 pack. And the size hook I usually look for is size 6 or 4. Thanks for watching.

The first bite is the hardest, otherwise you feel like nothing is working no matter how many different ways you tried to retrieve. -I haven't gotten a jig bite yet......

@KimchiJerry

I believe any ultralight rod works but I think a crucial factor is if it’s fast or medium/ medium fast. Fast action doesn’t let you cast it as far because the bend is more significant. Now m/mf action doesn’t have much of a bend when you cast it so it “flicks” the jig faster and farther. The Okuma GSP is medium/medium fast which is perfect for it. Some people use American Spirit UL rod for jigs but it’s so fluid or bends easily and casts your jig down and not high or far. If that makes sense but trust me if experimented.
@corefishing1
@corefishing1 Год назад
I agree, the mod fast action is way better for trout jigging. I like the okuma GSP for that exact reason.

Does this technique work better than a bobber technique for crappie
@corefishing1
@corefishing1 Год назад
I think they are different techniques for different times. The bobber allows you to suspend the jig for a longer time in one spot. The jig without a bobber works much faster and can trigger active fish to bite more.

Catching fish is better than clapping cheeks, no doubt. Especially when your rod is bent and something heavy is at the other end and you are trying to land it. The possibility that it gets away is always there until you got it

I’m guessing you probably are working the jig too fast as well. Usually I work the bait within the top 5 ft of water.

If you keep your limit everytime that place will not be good to fish eventually. I love to eat fish but I CnR a lot so there is fish remaining. At eagle lake the limit is two for a reason and it closes from march 1 through may 31.. They don’t want it fished out. I can control that urge to keep everything I catch like I did when I was a kid. I know it’s legal but is that’s your argument it means you don’t care about future fish populations. I fish 3-4 times a week also
