I am using HP 90 extreme pressure gear oil from 3 years and the result is amazing..... Pehle i just used petrol/kerosin to wash the chain.... But kerosin is a rubber eater so links ke bich me O ring damage kae sakta tha isiliye abi aap wala petrol+eng oil formula use karke dekhenge.... Thanks Rammy bhai... Machine oil also works good for chain lubrication purpose. The downside being only that it goes away too soon. But considering a 75ml bottle costs about 20rs. It isn't much of a downside. I ride a suzuki gixxer and i lube the chain after every 150 kms. Or whenever the chain looks dry or makes noise. Also machine oil doesn't attract road dust as is the case with most of the spray on chain lubricants.. This engine oil and petrol hack will also work well! Cheers!.

Dear Rummy Rider, I read/watched lots of Articles and Videos made by lots of Blogger's, as per them Petrol is very harmful for "O Rings" in Chain and due to that Chain life reduced and if we use Diesel ir Kerosene than these are good for Chain cleaning. No effect on O Ring of Chain. Now a days Kerosene is not available in mkt so Diesel is good for Chain Cleaning. Fir Chain Lube HP EP 90 Gear oil is best as you shown in your video.
The best way is to clean in with kerosene oil, dry clean it and then dip it in molten grease. Hang the chain verically till the excess of grease drips off. Then fit it back. Cleaning it with petrol will make the rubber rings hard and brittle which will crack over a period of time. Therefore reducing chain life. If you notice company new chain kits are always greasy. Option no 2 with s use after cleaning the chain you can lube the chain with Rolon chain lube. This process should be done in every service for all chains that are running naked. Enclosed chains should be lubricated with SAE 90 gear oil after every 500 KMS. Avoid using steam, thinner and solvents.

I found this video very helpful. I appreciate your efforts making this video. I request to recommend 90 grade engine oil in specific. I'm using Hornet 160R and disappointed with the chain dryness and it attracts dust all the time. Is it possible to modify to fill chain case cover? Please reply.

Bhai sahab, thank you for the video . I used to clean chain with kerosene and then apply oil. By the way video mein chain lock ka direction shayad ulta hai. Open side of lock should be opposite to the direction of motion of wheel rotation

@@intellectualkshatriya3046 No, the viscosity of engine oil is very less and it will not stick to the chain at high speed. Best is you use gear oil, may be 120 or 140 grade.
Problem with oiling the chain is that, oil splashes all over the rim, swing arm, engine side cover and if oiled excess it splash on the rider's right leg

I m from srinagar 3Teeth of chain sprocket had broken and bike has driven 19000 km till now should i change rear sprocket only or complete chain set my bike is classic 350 and give any link for chain set
kerosene is best for chain rings but.. parafin is good for chain rings..petrol though decreases the level of oil rings and softens it!! petrol is very harmful for chain rings..
