I was referred to by another Ram owner on fb. I want to say great video. Not a lot of rambling if any. We saw what you did from start to finish I have a 2020 3500 and mine won’t kick on when temp gets up there. Thanks to you I feel very confident on changing mine. Got a sub from me. Keep em coming when repairs are made.
@@gemcityfireman Thank you! The area below where I was is a blocked off zone where no one walks. lol. It definitely would not be good if someone was below and a wrench fell.
Hi Alex, it would be so cool if you did a video, showing how you store your meals in your fridge, what fridge model you have, how you run your electricity without idling, and perhaps showing us your AC setup? Thank you!
@@graromero619 I’m attaching a video where I show my meal prep. I don’t have a AC, I use a Milwaukee fan but definitely need to get an AC setup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e5VZLwHUkwI.htmlsi=Dentyi3C2wCKcIfw
I say BRAVO Alex!! I'm not super familiar with the electric fan clutches but the older style centrifical clutches will run a little from your first start up of the day which is normal. I think you are fine! Job well done!! Now, go and get a few of those fancy doughnuts!! and/or a cold beverage!!
@@richardbarkley9909 Thank you! These electric clutches will also start up in the morning too. It’s always different but the issue I was having is everyone is drive, no matter the temp of the engine, it would howl so loud until I was in 6th gear. Not normal.
Hi Alex, Great videos and tutorials, as always. How many miles do you have on your truck? Also, could you do a quick review of the RAM after almost 2-3 years? Thanks!
Great job, Alex! I'm glad it all worked out. What mileage did it fail at? Did you go with an oem thermostat or anything cooler? Our 21 3500 with 76k miles, on cold start-up from time to time, has the fan clutch running but shuts off after about 5 seconds. I understand the noise you're talking about. I'm glad you got it fixed, and thanks for taking the time for the DIY video on it. It'll be helpful when the time comes💪👍
@@alvinmann7675 I bought a autozone thermostat to try out since oem one is $300 🤦♂️ I’ll be putting my oem one back in since it isn’t faulty. The fan clutch failed at about 165k
@Mr.AlexKogan I don't have Instagram so I wanted to ask you a random question about your ELD. Are you running it off an iPad or what tablet are you running? Appreciate the info Alec.
Hey Alex, do you know which model can replace this for 2022 Ram 3500? I stopped and I can't find any one available , they said will hard for me to find . Any other model can fit in my 2022??
@@brandonmartins28 I’m sure all 5th gen Ram from 19 and up use the same one. Some dealers don’t stick it but some do. It’s hit or miss. What area are you in?
Have a 2021 with around 70K miles. My issue is only with the cover in the center of the fan clutch that faces the radiator. It appears to be riveted on from what I can see in your video, but on mine it is loose and makes a metal clinking noise. Fan seems to perform just fine and spins with ease. Not sure how to correct without taking the fan out and I hate to buy a whole new clutch assembly if it’s just that cover that’s loose. I’m just worried it’s going to fall off!
Well the cap that was loose over the clutch bolt (with the Chrysler star logo) on the front side closest to the radiator actually fell off while I was trying the “beat the wrench with a dead blow hammer” trick. Didn’t know it fell off until I had the clutch and fan totally removed. Looks like it’s barely held on with rivets. Going to try running it without that cover for now. At least I won’t hear the sound of it at idle now.
@@Mr.AlexKogan as far as I know and it’s easier to just fix it myself I’m sure the bearing will wear out sooner without the dust cap but at least I know how to remove and reinstall. Although, I’m just not too confident I have the bolt back on tight enough. Hit it a good few times with the hammer while tightening.
@@farmlifer It was never overheating at all. The fan would just kick on at 206 degrees until it came back down to about 197. It should only kick on at high speed when the temps reach 217 and above.
@@bbrcummins1984 yes mine did that too. That was normal but the issue I was having was different. It would go into highest fan speed every time I start driving from dead stop. No matter how hot my engine was and it wouldn’t stop till I reach 6th gear.
@@diamondhead203 Yeah mine did that but I was having a different issue. Highest fan speed every time I’d start driving until 6th gear. Then it would come on again every time temp reaches 206 which it isn’t supposed to do until about 217 degrees.
@@tbomber7716 Parts fail. You have brand new vehicles that have failing parts. Wear and tear as well. Some parts fail prematurely. Warranty ended a long time ago. I’m around 170k miles.
@@TallCityEliteMotors Thank you. Really the only issues have been dpf filter related. I’m on my third one and I don’t idle the truck. I’ve also replaced a leveling sensor for the rear air ride. DPF pressure sensor has been replaced. I think that’s about it.
@@Mr.AlexKogan great man i really want to take that stuff off but dont wanna pay for plus i switch truck about every 3 years so dont wanna run into issues when its time to traded it in
