The less time cold beer is flowing in your lines, the more build up they get. After a while, cleaning them won't do the trick. You've got to replace them. Here's how I do it.

You skipped the part I cannot manage to do - that shank nut is impossible to get off for me.

Nice video. Im firing my kegerator back up after being down a few years. I bought new lines. The guys at the local Home Brew shop recommended I upgrade to 1/4” hosing and running it longer as the extra length (I went with 8’) cus it helps with foam control. I also previously built a DIY tower cooling fan. I bought a plastic hard drive box for a computer and a computer fan. I cut a hole in the “intake” side and a hole in the “export” side. I fashioned a cone and some 1 1/4” plastic tubing so that the fan pulled in air from inside the kegerator and blew a steady supply of cold air out the other side and through the 1 1/4” tubing up the tower keeping the beer line cold all the way through to the tap handle. Worked like a charm to keep things colder and reduced so much foam. Just my little diy. Cost less than $20 and worked wonders. Thanks for the video!

The man corrected himself after he said NSF-51 was an acronym. That deserves a like :)

You are a lifesaver. I could not for the life of me remember the order of the pieces. Froze the video at 4:04 and bam I could put my shank back together. Thank you!

Randomly searching RU-vid for information how to clean/maintain my new kegerator and to my surprise at the end of the video you say you have Riggs on tap. I live 10 minutes from Riggs and primarily bought this for the Hefeweizen. Delicious stuff. Nice videos.

Thanks! New to this, is the 3/16" ID line the most common? I bought some replacement and there is NO WAY this is going to fit the barbed fittings.

Funny thing is I need to know how you got that shank nut off. Cause I have no idea
@DoItProjects
@DoItProjects Год назад
Just hold it in place with anything that fits, like a wrench or pliers, then give the shank a twist to loosen it. Once it's loose just use your fingers to thread it the rest of the way off. To reinstall, just thread it on with your fingers and use the wrench or pliers to give it a final tightening. Just be careful not to over-tighten. Your fingers might be enough. Hope this helps 👍
