In this video I demonstrate how to change the front differential oil on a Mercedes ML Class or in-fact pretty much any Mercedes all wheel drive vehicle. This is not a complex procedure, so you should have no issues!
What you will see is that I step by step show you how to do this procedure safely with minimal tools. In particular I have attempted to film all of the steps involved without avoiding the trickier elements of this task.
Consumables Used:
* Gear Oil 75w-80 (MB 235.74) (amzn.to/48ysWqe) - Approx 1.2 Litres Required ##
* 2 x Drain Plug (A1643310056) ###
Note, for vehicle with differential lock you will need to use a different MB specification of fluid.
(13-Oct-2023 Update) Note, as per the video I did not replace the drain plugs on the differential as the local Mercedes dealership supplied a metal crush ring, which was a genuine mistake as the drain plugs have a rubber o-ring. Upon further enquiring with the Mercedes dealership, the rubber o-ring cannot be purchased as a seperate part. Rather new drain plugs are sold with a new o-ring, however having said that the dealership did not actually have any in stock, thus I enquired further with the Senior Mercedes Technician at the dealership and he indicated that they do not have any in stock as they reuse the existing Drain Plugs (and o-rings) when they change the differential fluids, where he advised that the Drain Plugs only need to be swapped for new Drain Plugs if they are leaking prior to draining the differential fluid.

Torque Specification on the Drain Plugs is 30NM
