Check out my how-to change the oil video and perform your own maintenance on the BMW 1250 GS R GSA and it's the same for the 1200 as well. The easiest bike out there to service! I will also take you through reseting the service due light using a OBD Link and MotoScan. Super easy!

Hey, thanks for the vid, in the description the link for the crush washer is accidentally the same link for the oil you use. Any chance you can update the link?

O the oil in the site glass should be half way up the circle

is the procedure the same on a r1200RT (pre 2010). I'm assuming the engine is basically the same.

I've just completed the service on my 2022 BMW S1000RR M Sport using MotoScan paid for the Ultimate version well worth the money. One thing I did reset was the mileage from 10000 to 3000 miles but that's just my personal preference imo for the price of 4ltrs of oil and filter no brainer. Great video nice to see fellow biker help and inspire others new sub - ride safe guys

@@stags-gr8to Ah yes. That is something that came on the bike, I am not sure if the prior owner added it, but I have seen new bikes come with it as well. I am not sure exactly what it does but it most likely braces the center stand.

@@BackDraftBikes Oh okay. I have a 2020 GS which I bought new and I don't have that. I just asked because my centre stand is looking a bit rusty so I was just trying to get some information if the item as to whether this attachment was meant to protect the stand..............I'll do some more investigation! Thanks for getting back to me😊
