How to Change out Hardie in the Field!!

This is the best method for changing out Hardie Lap siding in the field. No need to grind or cut anything. Cut out the caulking, then wiggle that bad boy loose off those nails. Be careful not to damage the piece above it though!! Use a pin nailer to re install for the most discrete look

@@JayyRodd Good question. If I'm not using my pump jacks, I normally run a ladder plank system. I'll just stick a 3 step at the bottom of the ladder and lean my pieces against the ladder. Short pieces I'll just walk up on my shoulder and stack on the plank

Dogg where's your back caulk, box and flashing around that vent?

The vent is self flashed (as in, it's flanged all the way around with a slope on the top already) Seal that flange to the envelope and caulk all the way around. It doesn't need a drip cap

@Toprankedpdx yeah exactly like a window. Only the top edge of the box is on a 10 degree slope
