hey guys I figured out a way to make .exe files have a custom icon! :D 1. Make a shortcut of the program 2. Now you can put a custom icon for the shortcut! :D
It's come to my attention that most of us here are too focused on figuring out which Spongebob episode is playing in the background rather than listening yo you...
Thanks! This helped a lot. These instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. Just make sure to follow everything up to the point he realized it was the wrong picture and ignore that part.
@@esraaadel1486 hey all thanks to you for saving my time , this really works....😉😉😀😃.. i pray that you too can make it alive out of covid-19 pandemic and so does your family...with love from INDIA💟
Bro it's 2020 right now and I've been scrolling through the web trying to change my icons and NON of them worked for me... then I found your video 🤙🏽✊🏽✊🏽 CHEEEERS 💯
Jason,, Not sure how you figured this out but I want to thank you for posting it. It has served me well over the years, through many computers. I'm an old man and my memory fades as the years go by so I have always referred back to this post to help me change the icons. Your detail is great, thanks ever so much,
I don't care if Thomas Jason is using internet explorer or whatever! As far as I'm concerned he can use whichever one he feels like or has. thanks to this tutorial I can now change my folder Icons to any icon I want. Even to use my photos of my friends and family which a have stored on my PC and want to use to identify the folders so I can recognize them immediately !!! Thanks again!!!
Thanks for the awsome video, I wanted to make a safe vault looking folder for video storage and it looks awsome. I might make all my folders customized now. Good video!
*INSTRUCTIONS* Search a photo and copy the image. Go to paint and click "CTRL+V" Resize the image to 32x32 Click "File" Then click "Properties" Then click "Pixels" where it says "Units" Make Width and height "32" Click "Save as" Then "Save as 24-bit Bitmap" Save image as "Icon.ico" Right click your folder Click "Properties" "Customize" "Change Icon" "Apply" Then press "Ok" All finished! You can out this in the RU-vid description if you want, Thomas Jason.
You are able to do this with any shortcuts aswell. I just made a folder in my Documents for all of the exe files and made shortcuts to put onto my desktop :)
Thank you, it's working. I used to utilise online icon converter, but they have lots of malware and annoying ads. This saves my time and provide more security. Once again, thank you.
If you get "This file does not contain an icon" alert, then your pixel ratio must be incorrect. I think system only allows pixel ratio in the form 2^n x 2^n. So try 16x16, 32x32.....etc.... but 512x512 would be the ideal fit bcoz the quality is good
I changed one of my folders and it had the white background. Then I used pixlr to get rid of the white background. One you save the image on pixlr it has to be a png file or it wont stay transparent but because its a png file it wont let me use that image for the folder icon
what if we want to transfer the folder to some other device along with the icon. i used to do it by adding the icon inside the folder and then setting a path for the icon which would be general, no matter where you take that folder, but now cant just recall it
OK so this works 1/13/2022. I just tried it and it did exactly what I was hoping for. I'm on Windows 10 or 11. I don't remember, but it looks identical. Windows really hasn't changed THAT much has it? LOL 👍
You can still change it for some files you dont own if their not .exe, and as long as your logged in as the administrator. Thanks btw, i finally got a HD logo for that old program...
