Thanks, man! I had watched another video where the guy removed the whole center console to get to the radio, you just saved me a lot of time and hassle!

It is important and difficult to take off the cigarette lighter when you get out the bottom screws at the very beginning. Other than that this is one of the better how-to videos on youtube.

Did you need a stereo installation kit thing? Or can you just swap out the stock deck to the new one?

ive got a 99 Honda civic ek and I cant seem to get the console use just pulled out.. the bottom comes off but the top feels like its gunna break is there any screws on the inside holding t in ?

Man every video I watch is the old civic with vertical control knobs. I got 2001 one with horizontal knobs. I can't get the cable from the heater to come off, it's so darn tight

@MrMotoAddict did you encounter a problem where the DRL (Day Running Lights) stay on after you start it up even tho you have the knob set to off?

Hi I got Honda civic 2001 1.6vtch. My parter changed the radio and works good but the problem is the car won't start properly now the green key light it's not flushing after turning the engine of but it flush when I start the engine and the car sometimes won't start first time do you know what might be the problem?

i have a 2000 honda civic and i tried to hook up a new radio, i got the old radio out and everything, and and got the new one in. i bought a wiring harness, but it seems that when i try to use the butt connectors i dont get any power. i got power somehow for like 30 secs and when it worked the radio and everything sounded like crap. PLEASEE HELP, idk what im doing wrong....

Head unit sits in the plastic frame and it secured by prying up small metal tabs that look like triangles around the edges. Pry up at lease two per side.

My radio didn't die, but my cassette player keeps ejecting the tapes. Do you know how to fix it?

Did you take out the entire e brake panel to get power outlet panel off?

One of my buddies installed a radio in for me, but now my turn signals, hazard lights aren't working. The fuse looks fine, but i don't know jack about the wires behind the radio so i'm not sure what to do. I'm not trying to shell out a buck fifty for a shop if it turns out its just a plug that isn't plugged in. Any tips?

WHere did you find the diagram of the original radio? I got 2001 Civic but radio has been replaced with a Sony. One speaker stopped working today. I want to check channels see if its a cable or speaker issue. Otherwise i need to pull apart a shit load of panels to find the colors :(

Very very helpful, tho next time maybe a better idea to check that its all working BEFORE clicking and screwing everything down, just in case some connections not right. Would save the hassle of stripping everything down again :-)

Nice video kid!.. Just a word of advice? I would unplug your battery before you mess around with any of the electrical wiring in the car. Just trying to help you out.. Great job though.

You connected the illumination light and now I bet you have no back running lights or lisence plate lights or dash illumination light. I know this because I did same thing and now have none of those lights
