Wow, nice upgrade to your beautiful Civic! Thanks for sharing, and I think all the time, trouble and Xtra work you did with the bezel trim could've been avoided if you would've just gotten one (air-con/radio bezel) from an '04-'05 Civic SE as those are already made for the double din that comes with them! I found one for a friend at a wrecking yard and not only does it fit perfectly, there's no problem with installing a double-din..and we already tried a few different ones. Besides that, it's a great upgrade and looks amazing in your dash! Definitely brings that nice Civic up to date 👍👍
@@maucsd2926 it’s a Civic Special Edition, it comes with a special double-din radio with a 6-CD function and a few other cool features. But pretty dated by todays standards!
Thank you for your detailed video. This one video helped me with the car 2 din install. Yes, alot of 2 din sellers give a great product, user manual, BUT no install instructions. The end result looks great but for the price of the radio, that's way too many modifications to make when there so many trusted, name brand radios that offer the same features with install kits that are designed to simply click into place. Really good and detailed video though.
I have a manual 2005 civic LX and had a shop put a dual radio I went cheap now i regret it because I don’t have apple play , I’ll get the better Head unit soon and watch your video to install it myself thank you for the guide
Hi there, Do you know where I can purchase the replacement parts for the center console (around gear shift) bezels for Civic 2003? In replacing the audio system with the one you have shown here, I need to replace those parts as they are damaged. I will be grateful if you could send me a link to any store taht may sell these bezels.
Dude honestly I love the fact that you're explaining in detail but you really don't need to remove the HVAC Harnesses. Just unplug the harnesses for the radio and flip the bezel over and unscrew with a shorty screw driver. Only flaw I saw. Also just ordered one for my K24 Turbo 01 Accord.

Hey I bought this unit and i was curious if theres a wiring diagram so i can wire in the new connector that will fit the oem honda female connector? Im aware it’s pretty simple but i was just curious because its a lot easier with a diagram and I’ll know for sure everything works right off the bat
U can use the same double din radio, but your civic is an 6th gen with a different interior and radio trim, the kit this guy is using already barley fits the 7th gen civics I would recommend searching on RU-vid “6th gen civc radio install” and googling your specific car make model and year and finding pre made kits for you ur car
Thanks for the details! I'd recommend more than $17.99 for a camera. If you're going through all that, put another $10 on it for the turn line function. And, when you say, "To be honest with you", it kinda means the things you said before weren't honest. Everyone says it (not me), but think about how it really sounds. I've got a 17 Sentra and the clock screen went out and replacing it with a unit like yours would make it more up to date. I detail cars, so it looks new and when I get that replacement done it will look great! I appreciate your help, honestly I do!

There's also, "License Plate Frame Backup Camera Night Vision Car Rear View Camera with 8 Bright LEDs 170° Viewing Angle Waterproof Backup Camera Vehicle Universal Reversing Assist Security " for $28.41. The hyperlink is longer than the title. Although it is attached to a plate frame, it offers a wide angle and parking assist which would matter to me. The plate frame is fairly thin and everyone has one anyway.
You can just get a usb extension cable and route it through your glovebox when everything is taken apart. You'll just have loose USB cable in your car instead of a factory looking usb outlet.
The camera is connected to the reverse lights that all cars have regardless of transmission. The minute the car goes into reverse it activates the camera just like a factory install one
$300? I can get it with car play for $120...this isn't any different than any other of those Chinese double din android tuners....and I can get it with Android 11 and car play and GPS with a backup camera and 1080P good video but that website is a ripoff site!
Hi Ken! Always nice to see you here! For me its the 2gb ram, wireless CarPlay makes a big difference and it has wired android auto. But yeah you can find something similar but I promise you that it won’t have wireless carplay. Some do but they glitch alot also.
I got one of those Chinese double din with android, GPS, Google ect. and at first it was really cool because it had Wi-Fi and all that stuff but within 5 months the digitizer stopped working and then the whole thing stopped working entirely. Piece of junk. I ended up replacing it with a Kenwood that's been good ever since.
@@bboyisaac07 I've had mine a year already works like day one. So your theory is already debunked. Additionally everything works on it like out of the box....including the GPS and WIFI
I bought this kit recently and worked perfect. They sent correct harness, Plug and play. 10 minutes. What was pain is the metal bracket they sent was different then he one in video so be creative to make it work. It is plausible. This works amazing, great response, fast connection. I got 8 core version to avoid lagging. Thanks for great video!!!!
