How to change rear brake discs and brake pads BMW 5 E39 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC] 

Frist you have to find the master cylinder which is hidden under the drivers side cabin air filter assembly. Now you have to take that off without breaking any of the fraglie plastic before you get to resume working the brakes! BMW basic training it a pain, but when it's done: damn nice car to drive. I'm gonna sell a couple of my Saab's and get an e39 530i. I'm learning on my gals 528i I found her.

We cannot show all the nuances and problems when replacing, this is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend that replacements be made at specialized services.

Depending your skill set.. I work on cars as a hobby about 10 years now. Did my front e39 brake pads and rotors in an hour and a half, first time.

I just use a pair of channel locks and an old brake pad.
