Hi and thanks for the nice comments. I will upload a new 3hr long video before the end of this week. It covers all the work on the BMW F10 with the N57 diesel engine. I have been editing for several days so I hope people will appreciate and enjoy it. A lot of work went into it.💪🏻🤝🏻

My vivaro b keeps passing it's MOT but I'm convinced my shocks are shot on all four corners. It's on 200k+ miles and original shocks. Definitely gonna tackle this over the next few days and see if there's an improvement, and if so, do my front ones next.
@TheKeenMechanic

Same as mine. Never failed mot but they were all shot. You will feel the difference after🤝

Another great video! What paint did you use on the rear axel? I’m planning a similar restoration on my van and would like to paint it to protect from rust.
@TheKeenMechanic
@TheKeenMechanic Год назад
I used Rust converter on the bare metal 1st then POR15 grey paint. Por15 is not cheap but 1 tin of 100ml will do the job. Thanks for watching and for your comment🤝

@@themetalbracketcompany No worries at all. See this link, they have these kits and this should allow to do that job with this kit. Place the springs the other way up, this allows mud and grim from the road to pass thru the spring.. vauxhall

Hi! nice video! (helpfull) Do you know if there is a softer shocks or springs..? i mean.. i have "combi" version.. (3 seats front,3 back.. and no windows on rear sides..) and i think maybe, "passenger" version have the suspension,softer than mine... thanks in advance! Regards!
@TheKeenMechanic
@TheKeenMechanic Год назад
Hi Mine is a commercial van and I put Febi heavy duty springs at the back. I noticed the original were much thinner and broke due to this. In your case search the web and local shops and compare the original with the new ones you get if you want softer suspension go for thinner springs. Not sure about scocks. Mine were shot so I just got what was available in my locar parts shop

NEED DO ONE ON MINE , DO YOU NEED DROP BOTH shock absorbers ? THZ
@TheKeenMechanic
@TheKeenMechanic Год назад
It is best to drop both sides but you might get away with just one side and put a bit of pressure on it to twist it a bit. If you can afford replace both. Best of luck

My top bolts are seized solid and won't loosen, what do you suggest?
@TheKeenMechanic

I suggest gas torch until the nut is red hot and after that use a large breaker bar and it will come off

Are stainless bolts strong enough?
@TheKeenMechanic
@TheKeenMechanic Год назад
Yes, they are actually stronger. The only reason the manufacturers don't use them as they are more expensive. You find more stainless steel on the high end vehicles
@neilwarden7973
@neilwarden7973 Год назад
Where can you get stainless steel bolts from?
@TheKeenMechanic
@TheKeenMechanic Год назад
Ebay. Or just google the size you need. Most are M6/M8 bolts
