Why do you have to use contact cleaner? Will brake parts cleaner have the same effect? Or does it have to be contact cleaner since its being sprayed directly into the pump?
All these people are complaining about cleaning the oil filter yet that's probably the deepest you'll ever have to dig into the bike. I've owned my 250 2 stroke for 3 years now and I've had to tear into the engine multiple times for one thing or another. Work on a motocross bike is never ending. whereas this bike I change the oil, clean the chain, replace the brake fluid and tires every so often and thats all it ever needs. I never have to worry about my 150f or 230f having problems
Not sure what all years apply but on a 2003 CRF230F, the two gaskets you need are: (#2) 11393-KGA-900 (found in Right Crankcase Cover schematic) and (#9) 15459-KWK-900 (found in Oil Pump schematic).
Quick question, does this filter ever need to be replaced? Or just cleaned every 1200m? I just bought this bike used and am considering changing the filter out. Love your videos.
This is why I went with a TTR230, don't have to take the case off to clean the oil filter! Just 3 bolts and it comes out, I don't know what Honda was thinking with this centrifugal filter design, not very convenient at all!
Imran Hashim do you not know how to look up a owners manual, most of the time they come with a bike but if not, just look one up it should be free or a few bucks at most(just make sure it’s your model)
*Hector Perez* oil will start to leak, will eventually stop sealling. WD40 works great. Just be sure to wash off the residue with WD40 as dirt likes to cling to it. Thanks for watching!
*Eric Linnell* Do you have an aftermartket oil fill cap on your bike? I am showing that all years in the crf230's come with a dipstick style oil fill cap. Check out our OEM Diagrams here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts/Honda Did you purchase the bike new or used?

I bought it brand new from Bangor motorsports in Maine. I always thought it was strange as there was no sight glass. I'll probably order one from you guys soon.
Eric Linnell - Hey no way I was going to get a 2019 from there in July! I ended up riding up to Mars Hill and picking up a lightly used 2017 230f for $1300 less than what I’d pay out the door there. By the way, my 2017 has a dipstick on it.
This made my decision to get a ttr230 over a crf230! Yamaha oil change doesn't require you to take the case off to get to the filter and uses a traditional element oil filter.
*Greg Richard* If you have followed the steps in our video, you're ready to remove the right engine case cover. If it's giving you some grief, you can tap it with a rubber mallet to loosen it up. It could be stuck on with the gasket and the rubber mallet will help break the seal. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks
*Greg Richard* - We're happy to help. Thanks for the question. I'm sure other guys will be running into this same issue and will see your question. So, thanks again!
I just bought a Honda crf230f and i took it apart and found dirt in the casing of the engine what can i use to get that out do i have to take the entire engine off and clean it of is there a spray that can help me get that stuff off
*Sage Smith,* you were referring to min 1:08 yes? Thought you were joking because we used our hand. The bolt that holds the oem skid plate on will be an 8mm. Thanks for watching.
Yeah nevermind is right. I dont just have tools ready for this. Its not just that easy for me to go online just to order a thin gasket film everytime i change the oil. Buying things online is a big ordeal for me and my family. Something always goes wrong and who wants to wait for something in the mail like that just to change the oil on a bike that's rediculous.
These are the graphics we used on this bike: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/attack-graphics-custom-havoc-complete-bike-graphics-kit-p We've also done a complete build video on this 230F if you want to check that out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KS0PqrI38iQ.html
Honda recommends Pro-Honda GN4 10w-30 oil. We have a kit available that will come with everything you need to change your oil here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-4-stroke-oil-change-kit-p
If you enter your bike's info on our parts finder and scroll down to the graphics section, it will show the attack graphics/Rocky Mountain graphics we have for your bike. What are you riding?
Awesome! Thanks for the reply. You guys are really doing an awesome job. I visit the US a few times a year and you are my go to website for parts and accesories. The youtube content is amazing as well. Keep up the great work. Ive got an old 06 KTM450EXC .
Can you please tell me what torque wrench you are using that can torque @ 3.6 ft/#'s & 7 ft/#'s ... even the 1/4" drive doesn't go that low ??? I need to do all this to my crf230f and need the tools
The only torque wrench we carry that can do torque values that low is the www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/fixt-products-pro-torque-t-handle-p . You can also find a torque wrench that's in inch pounds and just do the conversion for what you need in ft. lbs.
