How to remove VW Cambelt and waterpump : Courroie de distribution T5. Step by step tutorial on how to remove and replace the cam belt and water pump on the 2.0 TDi engine.
Lovely vid thanks I'm doing this job all been well in 2 days.quick question so when the pins are in and crank is locked is it necessary to undo the cam bolts to take the belt off and replace?
Nice job Sir ! cambelt replacement always looks daunting, at the end of the day, it aint all that hard............you just have to be careful.............twin cams are a bit dodgy 😁
You really should rotate to the crank by hand using a knuckle bar a full cycle before putting the covers back on and checking that you all your marks still line up.
My cam belt snapped and need to check the head because the engine didnt seem the lock up, the cambelt was only half broke so I might be lucky, do I need to take off the bumper and radiator to be able to do the work?
You should be able to take the head . off fine without taking radiator or bumper off. Did the belt snap completely or just starting to tear ? You may be lucky but the very fact you know it snapped means something happen which would suggest engine stopped running in which case aim for bent valves. I hope you are lucky and this is not the case.. Either way You can do it 👍
@@youcandoit1828 Thank you mate. Yes it was part snapped but loose on the pulleys, the engine did a light thud but didnt lock up, I thought maybe the belt could of been tight enough to keep the timing close to what it should be. Thanks again!
