Got smashed by a speeding courier van yesterday,plastic covers retrieved from the road but clips are bust.Glass from his huge mirror all over the road.He drove off.Great video,just what I needed.
Yes horrible when it explodes. I would suggest getting chrome covers to put over the to plastic cover. you can spray them what ever colour if you don't like chrome but the added metal really does protect the covers underneath. Last time the had the courier contact it was his that exploded. They don't stop as nothing will happen as if would be classed as knock for knock. Keep us posted on how it goes. You can do it 👍

sometimes its just the was it goes. I bought a new lower one for around 8 euros. As shown in the video most of mine had snapped off due to hit. Good luck. You can do it .
No I’ve left it black as I’ve fitted chrome covers to them. Looks really smart. Also chrome covers acts as protection if some hits the wingmirror. If you want to paint the cover best to buy the preprimed cover from VW. Then get it sprayed. 👍
Holy hell that was a pig of job! Why the hell do they use such brittle plastic for the clips, it makes it virtually impossible to remove the caps without snapping or irreversibly bending a clip. Nightmare. Luckily I accidently bought 2 sets of covers so when one went on incorrectly and snapped I just used the spare.
