finger coiling doesn't change your pattern it just enhances your natural pattern so if you have coily hair finger coiling will make it a more defined coil same if it's curly when you finger coil you're just gonna have a more defined curl

It does actually, not much but it does it’s called curltraining but i think it only works if you already have curls

@@niribee4126 sorry but you cant change your hair type unless its with chemicals. This is not how it works. You cant just finger coil and suddenly your hair type, your genes, just change. Thats like me straightening my 4c hair and claiming I have 1a hair. It doesnt make sense

I recently cut my hair for the first time ever ( pixie cut) I've never felt like I'd want short hair because I thought it's not cute or feminine but I felt like your mom. I just didn't want to be consumed by my hair and spend so much time on it. So I cut it. I'm happy.

Perm rods help make ur hair curly until it’s grows enough to the point u feel comfortable trimming it until all those fried parts are gone. And I get what u mean I’m more of a wash n go girl I’m not big on braids either so days like ur in the house try twice a week just wet, put conditioner in it and leave it in, pull it back or rock it loose around the house. Then next morning rinse and style ur curly hair. And lastly use aphogee two step protein it work wonders but only every other month. How do I make 1A hair type like a white person...
@JRTaylorIII
@JRTaylorIII 4 года назад
Aye. TOP 5. Kinda right you’re manipulating hair type not changing by braiding or twisting. You can’t change hair type without chemically treating or heat processing it. Typing is basically a guideline for which products work best for your hair. But yes always do what works for you and makes you Happy. Great vid!!
@kobylomax
@kobylomax 4 года назад
Typing is all based on the appearance of your hair (straight, wavy, coily, or kinky) not necessarily what products to use because it doesn't factor in your hairs density, prorosity, and a lot more things that really determine what products will work best for you. And yesssss! 100% we gotta let ppl do what they wanna do and whats gonna make them happy.
@JRTaylorIII
@JRTaylorIII 4 года назад
Koby Lomax Almost Lol.Typing actually does take into consideration the density. Ie. The letter a,b,c. That’s what creates the pattern of the curls. Not talking about porosity which is another ballgame. But it was originally created so that naturals can identify w a curl pattern similar to those to know which products cater to their hair in an unprocessed state. Not taking anything away from what you said jus adding to. But like I said your right so many other factors play into it.
@kobylomax
@kobylomax 4 года назад
@@JRTaylorIII so if you look up hair density, that just has to do with the number of hair strands that are on your head (IE how thick or thin your hair is). The a,b,c in hair typing has to do with how curly your hair is. Someone can be 2b with fine hair and another person can be 2b with thick hair. Their density is different but the pattern of the waves are still the same
@JRTaylorIII
@JRTaylorIII 4 года назад
Koby Lomax I should clarify. When I speak of density I mean the thickness of strand itself. You’re looking at the number of strands. I’m talking about the thickness of the strand itself. A person can still have thick hair with thin strands and vice verse. Which is why I said it’s a guideline. 4a hair is a thinner strand than 4C or Z type. Which is why the curls look different. But that has nothing to do with the number of strands itself. That’s why I used the word density, as most people say thick hair meaning a lot of strands rather than how thick the strand is which plays a part. You just so happened to be smarter than the average and did a little research. But like I said the vid is on point!
@denyshadials5702
@denyshadials5702 3 года назад
@@JRTaylorIII Coarseness has to do with how thick or thin a single hair strand is. Density refers to the amount follicles on your head. Any cosmetology book will tell you that.
@markeliupson943
@markeliupson943 4 года назад
2:15 Have to disagree with you here Koby. There are a lot of people with the same exact curl type, that have completely different looking hair with no product in it. It's best to judge curl type in a wash and go. There are a lot of people with even 4a or 3c hair that is very thick, and looks like 4c hair, when it's freshly washed with no product. That's why a lot of people think they have 4c hair. Because a good amount of people don't have defined curls with no product in at all, and will just look like an afro. But then when they use products, their actual curl pattern will show. Nevertheless, love your videos man ♥️🤘🏾
@kobylomax
@kobylomax 4 года назад
I see what you're saying, but I can do wash and gos with different products and techniques and my hair will look different. I may actually do a video on this where I do a wash and go with certain products on 1 side of my head and then use difffferent products on another side of my head.
@markeliupson943
@markeliupson943 4 года назад
@@kobylomax I definitely agree with that. Depending on the products or technique, it may look a bit different. But for example, for someone that has very low porosity hair, or very coarse hair, even if they have 4a or 3c hair, when it's freshly shampooed with no product, it can look exactly like 4c hair. So if they were to judge their hair off of that state, they would say it's 4c. I think another really great way for people to see their actual curl pattern in a bentonite clay mask. Since it's not something like a twist out, or finger coils. And will make your natural curl pattern very visible.
@kobylomax
@kobylomax 4 года назад
I agree, for some ppl, bentonite clay will really make their curls pop, but for someone with fine curly hair, bentonite clay will wight their hair down and turn their curls to waves because its too heavy for them. My freshman and sophomore year of college, I did people's natural hair in my dorm as a side hustle and I've had some clients who, you put any sort of product in their hair that isn't super watery/thin in their hair and it looks different. And according to the hair type chart, hair type doesn't have much to do with porosity, its all about what a strand of hair looks like. And that's why I recommend basing it off of freshly washed hair. Because you don't have to factor in all of the variable of styling. Its just is what it is ya know. To your point of someone having 4a or 3c hair but when it's washed its 4c. That's how it goes! my hair freshly washed i'd say is probably more like 4a but I wear it in finger coils all the time and it looks 3c. And mind you, somebosy could feel like my hair is 4b and who's to say their wrong since its so subjective ya know. Most ppls hair looks very different freshly washed versus styled (Thats the whole point of styling!) and that's why I feel like we should compare out hair freshly washed to other ppls hair freshly washed because then, if its very similar, I can try their routine and odd are, itll probably work for me.
