The Muscle Biker Rotella T6 is rated for motorcycles. It's pretty cool! Been using it in my 600rr and also used it in my f4i

SOOOO NICE without the header there.. great video.. the lighting is fantastic and that lift... that's the shiznit right there.... so I noticed black passenger pegs.. those are new right? Are they painted, powdercoated or OEM?
@HeroRR
@HeroRR 7 лет назад
Thanks! I love that lift! Unfortunately this will be my last easy oil change as the arrow headers make it very tight. You my friend have a good eye ;) Yes, they are new! Those are powdercoated from TST actually. I bought used from 600rr.net member.

Great video... very clear. Dammit, i miss working on my bike. :) Not sure how I feel about the Diesel oil, but that's probably just because I absolutely hate anything diesel. What made you start using it? Why don't you get a torque wrench? :) I've got a set of three. 5-25Nm, 5-100Nm and 25-205 Nm. They are not that expensive and can prevent a lot of trouble (mostly through over tightening). They'll last you a lifetime if you use them properly. (That means just for tightening and when not in use, put them back to "0"). Edit: forgot to mention Removing the filler cap before draining can speed it up a bit because it can suck in the air through the filler hole.
@johnc8910
@johnc8910 7 лет назад
If you feel that way about "diesel", don't use the oil. Me? Although I also use the T6 oil (I like the slightly lower "5W" pour point compared to the 10W and 20W oils), in truth, it really will not make much difference what brand of oil you use. Modern oils, mineral or synthetic, are good enough that as long as you use the appropriate grade of oil and stick with recommended oil change intervals, you will be fine. Just use JASO MA/MA1/MA2 certified oil. If you have a wet clutch, steer clear of oil with what they call "friction modifiers".

5:00 the old gasket typically would only stay on if it werent lubrictaed with lube/oil like youre about to do. i think bc basically it cooks on with the heat

Very informative! Thank you brother. I have a 07 cbr 600 rr just got it. My 1st bike I want to try to do things on my own if I can. I'll be watching your vids for help. do you recommended using that oil on mine? It has just over 10g miles. Also I live in Florida Hotter than the Devils @#$% Would that matter as far as the oil is concerned?

Just realising that all the maintanance is so easily done on my 2016 SV650. Every bolt and stuff that needs to be changeg from time to time is so easy to reach and i dont even have to do anything.

isnt it better to use a thinner oil so it gets into the nooks and crannies with todays tighter tolerances of machining, more so than a thicker oil could or couldnt?? I blew my chevy motor using 20-50

My only minor complaint is your using OLD oil to prelube the oil filter.

I mean it's his bike but it takes no more time to just dip your finger in the new oil and add it. My complaint was tightening it with a socket. Oil filters only need to be hand tightened. But then again I only use OEM so no nut to tighten anyways. Tracks around here have k&n oil filters banned

7:40 i wonder why they use a metal crush washer instead of a soft/rubber washer. do you know?
@sir240s
@sir240s 4 года назад
It works like a springload and helps the bolt not to unwind 🙂

It's not just a washer it's called a crush washer you're supposed to get a new every time You do the oil change

4:00 unfortunately the usefullness of the exterior nut on there doesnt compensate for the quality of the filter itself. but it is useful for sure

Very bad info on oil and intervals 🤔 allways use motorcycle oil as it can take more revs. Oilchange is no more than once a year or 10.000km

The Rotella oil is used in Turbo Diesel Engines which will spin up to 150,000 RPM. Trust me I ride my bikes hard and red line them routinely and I've never had an issue with this oil. Been using it for 5 years.
@HeroRR
@HeroRR 4 года назад
Also the Honda owner's manual says to change the oil every 5000 miles. I usually change it every 3000 and when it comes out it looks fine. I've also done oil analysis on my bikes and they've been all fine.
