Thanks Peyton it worked. The problem I had was when my son would use his wireless headset it would work for ten min. Then he would get disconnected. But you fixed the problem, thanks again!!

Hey man, I changed my channel on my router, but on a program inSSIDer it says it is still 11 while I changed it to 8. Does it take some time for it to change? I also turned my modem on and off.

the power button turns orange and the dsl and wireless symbols turn off and i lose my connection until the all the symbols on the router turn green.

Peyton,when I type 192.168.1.1 (because that I must type,thWt is the default gateway) I type there my wi-fi username and my wi-fi password and it doesnt work.It says the username/password is wrong.What can I do??

my router has a light to signal the status, it flashes orange and the goes white( which means its working) but then cuts off going g orange again, it doesn't stay working

FYI: Regarding "what channel to set your WiFi to - use your Smartphone and download app from Google Playstore - WiFi Analyzer - run through opts to channels - it will tell you strongest signal channels. Most productive app I've found.

There's a reason that channels 1,6 and 11 are the most common channels. They are pure channels, and all the rest are called overlay channels. In High RF areas choosing anything but 1,6 or 11 are always worse channels with more noise.

It means you have IPV6 on. Go to network adapter then properties then configure and untick the box that says IPV6 protocol. Should fix it.

Thank you. My son was driving me crazy because his ps4 kept dripping signal. So was the Xbox. Gamers mmoved in next door and I think they could have been on the same channel. I changed it and the signal hadn't dropped. He was ready to throw the system out the window😂

OK changed router to channel 6 - thought all was well. Today still have the occasional drop in connection. Can you suggest a different channel?

1, 6, and 11 are typically the best channels. If none of those work, then try channels in-between.

Not really. Usually its admin/admin or admin and no password at all. But they always have it printed on the label on the router itself.

+oslohes tyagi Generally speaking, yes. If you have issues with interference from neighboring Wi-Fi networks, then you might want to consider changing it manually.

i have a 17mb connection and i never have problems lol i don't know why i wanted to change as my internet was fine The only problem which was occuring was that the router would reset itself every 15 mins but i have fixed that by pressing the reset button on the back of the router and now everything is lovelyjubly
