How to Check and Add Engine Coolant in BMW 3 Series F30 F31 320i 328i 330i 335i
In this video I show to to check and how to add engine coolant in BMW 3 series and BMW 5 series. The procedure applies to most BMW vehicles.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Open the hood and locate coolant reservoir.
- Locate MIN and MAX marks on coolant reservoir
- If the fluid is below MIN mark - you need to add coolant
- If you need to add coolant, and the Coolant is not Premixed - you need to mix 50% Antifreeze and 50% Distilled water. Warning: Antifreeze is poison. Read Cautions on the bottle. We recommend to use Distilled water for mix
- Remove coolant reservoir cap. WARNING: Do Not open when engine is HOT! Let the engine to cool down before opening. Slowly turn cap to allow excess pressure to escape
- Add coolant until coolant level should be between MIN and MAX markers. Do not overfill
- Reinstall the coolant reservoir cap. Turn the cap until there is an audible click. The arrows on the coolant reservoir and the cap must point towards one another
