Just picked up my wing window assemblies! Quality stuff thanks good thing you posted this so much time went by while I worked on other stuff I forgot what is first to last or last to first ..Cool!
There is a left and a right to the window regulator, make sure that the regulator teeth will not interfere with the wing window post here I am taking it back apart lol
the window rubber felt should go in first there is no way its going in with the window in.....at that exact point in the film you edited it and then it was done thanks now i have to take both doors apart
We install window channel felt with the glass in all the time. If you are having trouble there are some tricks you can use. You can apply a small amount a mildly soapy water which will help the channel slide down, or you can dust the channel and the rubber with some talcum powder and that will often help it slide down as well. It is absolutely not necessary to remove the glass when installing the channels.
I own a 1948 GMC truck and have a real problem with the passenger door . For some reason I can not get the door to open. I have checked the linkage and all looks good .. Lubed the hell out of it with penetrating oil and lube .. Ended up pulling the Lock key lock out of the door think it was the culprit .. and still would not open .. Rotated the regulator where the key lock would normally rotate to lock door and it rotates fine. So apparently its in the striker area not allowing the door to open using either inside or outside door latches .. Really scratching my head on what the issue is ..
We have a video about how to install the entire front end starting with doors. That would be a good one to watch because it goes into a lot of detail. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j7n_W1IxU_s.html
How can I get the door to unlock when the door is closed .??? I shut the door with it locked and now I can not get it to open even using the key and looking into the door facing from inside it seems like everything is working but still will not unlock?????? Help me please
It sounds like the rod that connects the latch to the lock is disconnected, incorrect or damaged. Pull the door panel off on the inside and see if you can trouble shoot it from there
Hey Dave! How bout a vid on a windshield install on a 60 to 63 wrap around with the chrome moulding?! Can't seem to find anything specific for that on You Tube. Thanks!
Absolutely! Here's a link to the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sebg51EheUo.html You would need a "DELUXE" kit for your 3/4 ton so the ball joints will be compatible with the new spindles. Here's a link to the product category on our website: www.brotherstrucks.com/Front-Disc-Brake-Conversions/products/2139/
We'd have to do a little research on that exact truck, but at first glance it looks like it's possible if you roll the glass up and carefully remove the rear run channel. Then you can access the latch and swap it. When you're done just slide the run channel back into place and roll the glass down.
