Basically if your adding hp to your vehicle. You will want a bigger heavier duty clutch so u don't burn it out. If your replacing the clutch from the original. Not adding hp. Just go with a stage one.

Thanks for making this video! I just upgraded to a 6 speed manual with a stage two clutch to handle the power of my Super Bee and it probably won’t be enough as it’s 750HP and was previously running a 3 speed B&M automatic drag unit with a 4,000 stall converter 😅 should be done in a few weeks I’ll up load a video of the first drive.

My car that I just bought has a stage 2 clutch. This is my first manual, so I’m pretty much a beginner. I’m having a loooot of troubles with it, but I’ve only driven it 6-7 times so far. Think I should struggle through it, and learn to get better, or change to a stage 1? I just daily drive the car. And I feel like changing out the clutch is a big process… Great video!

my first car was an e36 that had a stage 2 clutch, was a pain in the ass to ease off, especially considering the age i got it, but in the end it helped me drive almost any manual no matter how stiff the clutch is

I too make horrible financial decisions 🫡 porsche 996, bmw z3, bmw e92, alfa romeo stelvio, and a bmw 310r motorcycle with no space to park them 🤣

I want to change my clutch disc to stage 1, but will that improve launch? What differences can I expect if I replace OEM with Stage 1 clutch disc? I drive Hyundai Coupe. It's quite fast on lauch, thought about getting better start with Stage 1. Would be great to get some short answer! Thanks in advance!

Stage 1 will give you a little better improvement over stock. But if you like clutch dropping, stage 1 would not last.

@@runningrich Potentially put in a higher stage clutch for my daily driver sub compact. I can see now there is no need and it would even be counter to what I need i.e. smooth shifting, low vibration. Thank you.

@@runningrich I'm putting a new clutch in a Nissan Versa. I had read of the Staged clutches and wanted to learn more. Looks like a good old stock clutch is what I need. The main issue was the the Release Cylinder (Slave Cylinder) likely has a leak. I saw fluid coming from the weep hole. My clutch pedal went to the floor. I'm changing the Clutch Cylinder as well.

I have a 2014 370Z and the only mods are going to be a catback exhaust and high flow cats. The stock clutch is a little clunky, and prone to failure apparently. I simply want a good solid clutch that installs easily and shifts smoother. I won't be racing it or going crazy, just the usual put my foot into it occasionally. Which clutch would you recommend? Thanks!

Try the nismo edition clutch if you can get a hold of it. Otherwise ACT or Spec makes great street performance clutches.

Just bought a car with a stage 4 clutch (first time driving w/ one). I noticed I don't necessarily have to drop the clutch, but I can still somewhat slowly let off and push the gas a little bit more than you would an OEM. I just believe that's something that confuses me, simply because I don't have to drop the clutch and that I can somewhat ease into it. Is that simply me just being a bad driver and not understanding how to work a stage 4 clutch or what?

Hey bro nice and very informative info, would you recommend z1 clutch kit full face disc and midweight flywheel for daily driving, lil street racing and drag race here and there. Should I get the full face, unsprung or six puck disk, am not boosting the car or any thing, just basic bolt ons and eventually a tune .

I would recommend the z1 lightweight flywheel with the unsprung full face clutch. Also get the upgraded clutch fork.

I have a 2013 Scion FRS base model and my stock clutch is no longer operating well. Should I get an OEM replacement for $1,500 total including labor or should I start saving up for a stage 2 clutch? I do daily driving and some minor racing/0-60 mph pulls when bored.

Fast shift is not completely related to a clutch setup, how about you look into a short Shifter setup?

Something a little more durable then OEM will be better for you. Look into specifications of the clutches. Towing clutches will have different compound.

You shouldn't need a tune for a clutch job. If you know what you are getting into, stage 2 should be ok. As long as it's a full face with a spring hub.

Depending on the manufacturer, stage 2 should be fine, but stage 3 would pose challenges.

I recently bought a 2012 wrx impreza hatch that was tuned for 285 who , this car came with a stage 2 clutch that is impossible to daily for me. I want to switch it out with oem or stage 1 but idk which one to go with. I personally dont race or anything so I really need a clutch that'll be nice and comfortable to go to college and use during traffic and so on.. whaat would you recommend ?

What if you just change your clutch plate to a button setup. Meaning no springs etc . Would the drive be horrible in traffic? And would it wear out quicker then standard clutch plate setups?

You can’t drive. Exedy stage 2 is awesome. I’ve gone through a transmission an the stage 2 still strong. You likely went with a stage 2 as your first clutch mod.

@@runningrich no not mod. First clutch upgrade. You do know your not sopost to launch a lite weight flywheel right. It’s for circuit racing conditions and rev matching. If your doing 1/4 mile runs your better off with stock oem flywheel. Yeah you screwed that clutch don’t blame Exedy. You likely don’t rev match (heal toe) 🤦🏾‍♂️

I Rev match all the time, even in my daily. The combination that I had was not good for daily driving. It's optimal for track. I don't go to track anymore..
