You are so inspiring Sally, I have been dressmaking since my teenage years & I’m now 66 but I still learn things from you! Mostly I’m slowing down and enjoying the process. I’ve just started using viscose as I see you make lovely things with this fabric, it was tricky cos it slips but I’m really pleased with the shirt and dress I’ve made. Thank you for the good influence you are having on me! ❤

I wonder if you have any suggestions for my current dilemma. I have some vintage Tana Lawn and I want to make a smock style dress but don’t want it oversized, eg, TATB Indigo dress. I love the Fringe dress because the bodice is more fitted but not sure if it’s too difficult for me. Any suggestions would be great. Many thanks

Ooh I’ve not made the Fringe pattern so I can’t comment but if you want something more fitted I love the darling ranges dress ( as you probably know) it’s still babydoll like but not too oversized it’s not too difficult but there are buttonholes. If you don’t want buttonholes you could add snaps. Does that help? X

Nice job explaining the basics. I think a part two might be of useful, explanation cup sized. The other part to consider with sizing down is the shoulder and armhole. As for the bottom, well that's another issue. I am really straight up and down. I size to my hips and usually grade out at the waist. I've even been known to take out a dart because I don't need the extra shaping. Yet someone with a more Barbie figure, might need to take in and deepen the darts. Great channel, I enjoy your content.
