Its one of those topics that plaque off gridders at times when they are considering a rainwater system. Its easy. I showed it. Next we'll work on more of the system. I have to explain whats safe and whats not ( IMO )
Great tips Billy Joe.This is a good time to be filling the barrels. We have been getting a lot of rain here in Tn. Actually it’s raining right now. 😳 You all take care. 👍👍👍
Great tips Billy Joe, PuredCloud and you are of the same mind, his mottoe: "live by your wits, not...." dang, I forgot! lol....From a cute blonde here on RU-vid I learned how to clean the 20 gallon water jugs, with 1/2 cup popcorn and 1/2 cup white vinegar, swoosh it around a coupla times, 5 to 10 minutes, drain the contents, rinse about 2 times and you're done. I also love your way of cleaning these rain barrels, "rock n roll the barrels for a coupla minutes back and forth", but lol....your hands stained with molasses beer, what would Sharon say seeing ya like your molasses hands?!! thanks for sharing the COOL video and the bloopers, liked and keep on CRUSHIN' IT Billy Joe! :D
I don't know why but one of my fav memories with dad was going to the dumps. As an adult, I hate that chore lol. I got some molasses barrels too, and a coffee one. The coffee one smells great!
I thought they would of fermented in the heat. The sugar was watery from being so hot in the sun. Poured right out very fast. I should of included, " Best done on warm or hot days as the contents are more liquified!"
My Grandma always kept a large galvanized wash tub next to her backdoor for the sole purpose of catching rain water to wash her hair with. The dear sweet woman lived to be 103.
If it was winter I would not of even tried to get it out. Be impossible. As you saw. Hot 85F TN weather it ran watery like liquid gold/oil. So always clean them in warm/hot weather for sure.
Very simple and straight through. They came out clean. It was a hot day so everything flowed. I would of NOT wanted to do this in the winter. What a nightmare!
I've been wanting to get me some rain barrels, now I know the easy way to clean them, but I've got even a easier way my back yard is on a hill, so I'll start at the top and roll them down hill, they should be clean when they reach the bottom
Good as i can be at 48 and out of shape. Thanks for jumping on here. I thought the topic was relevant to the off grid life and channel we have. Plus I always search for video on this kinda thing and end up frustrated. So I made my own. =P
@@TheWickerShireProject I have a 10 gallon brewmaster stainless but wont be back in Tenn till fall man, I shure miss my new nieghborhood! bet my grass needs cut by now, he he talk to you soon billy blessing to you and your family.
We both know I wanted ferment it out! I miss brewing. I was under the impression it was spoiled. 100% wasn't. I tossed about 2 gallons of it. Now it ran out like a rampaging river. It was hot and fluidy. Never clean barrels in the winder with this kinda stuff in it. Would be a sludge block. That would of been x20 harder to remove.
Hey Neighbor! You are the solar guy. I have a question about setting up a pet safe in ground dog collar system from tractor supply and running the unit off of solar. If you have tips for me or a guide I would appreciate it. I would like to use this for goats.
do you want a goat? I recently found one! Called all the places and none have been reported missing. Call your realtor lady if you want my contact info or something. If you don't remember my info.
