Beautiful brassware. My Mum used to have old windows and doors with brass fittings and she was very proud of her sparkling clean windows! Lovely memory. thanks for the reminder!
Probably the loveliest way of cleaning brass outside in the sunshine surrounded by the loveliest Royal Dachshunds ever!!! I love seeing them!!! They are adorable 💕💕💕💕💜💜💜💛💛. And you are so calm and positive making chores look enjoyable!😊😊😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are right, Royal Butler! Brasso is simply the best brass polishing product. No muss, no fuss. Keep the tin securely covered and the wadding lasts for about a year without losing strength. I have used it for decades for indoor use as you demonstrate, and outdoors on front door hardware, and in my barn on the brass hardware and my saddlery. Economical and efficient. No home or farm should be without it! I wish I owned the company.
Your little demonstration reminded me when I was a Brownie and Guide polishing my enrolment badges - using the same tin of Brasso! I don’t think I will ever forget the smell when I took the lid off the tin.
Thanks Grant you’ve made a tedious job look enjoyable. When I was a child my mum would get out the silverware on the first day of holidays and Ive hated cleaning it ever since.
Aaahhhhh......... That was my first thought for who would wear the brass crown 👏 So lovely to see the Royal Dachshunds relaxing in the beautiful sunshine☀️Thank you for another useful demonstration. Your brass candle holders are beautiful, and what a lovely view from your window sill 🍃🌿🍃 Keep safe.
I wish I had met our Royal Butler a couple years ago when I needed him most. He makes the dirtiest jobs seem not so bad after all. I gave away all my brass items as I couldn't believe the hard work and black mess I made cleaning it all but I still have two 16 in brass bells on the mantle which I cleaned and then I lacquered them so now I don't have to cry over it anymore.
I found a gentleman who lacquers brass and who did all the brass for our church. Also had him lacquer my candlesticks! Love polishing silver; really have no patience for brass!
Thank you, dear Grant. That was helpful and a timely reminder that it has been a very long time since I cleaned my brass. Hum, wondering if I have Brasso at home, hum...
Thank you, Sir Grant. The Royal Dachshunds were very helpful, as usual, in a rather casual manner. Actually, have a 160 year old, 1,000 pound bronze church bell to clean. Hmm. Brass being an alloy of copper and zinc, and bronze being of copper and tin. I will try a small test of "Brasso", but for bronze, I have a kitchen recipe to test, consisting of one part regular baking flour, and two parts of salt and vinegar. Just mix, wipe on, wait for awhile, and rinse with water. Viola? I'll let the Royal Dachshunds know how it goes, though I rather suspect that they may not be entirely interested in our human antics, and may perhaps prefer if we just polished their tummies in the warm sunshine.
Supersonic! That's a lot of candlesticks. How did you come by them? Here, brass candlesticks are challenging to come by, showing up mostly as rare finds in antique shops. It would be great to have a butler! ✔
Thank you dear Butler! 🏵️ I admire your candlesticks a lot.. i really love antiques. And you have them so much that you never need to be afraid to lose the electricity.. ⚡💡 Isn't polishing a magical thing - before is brass and after - Gold!! ✨🌟✨ But if you're still so fast you make me feel lazy.. Wish you wonderful summer 🌅 lots of hugs to your little cutie friends and hope that they don't get a heat stroke.. 🐶⛱️☀️ (We had few days heatwave.. 34°C/93°F 🥵)
Just a suggestion: could you do a segment on "Scottish clothes"? I mean the kilt and the proper way to accessorize it? Female. I have inherited a real Cameron kilt from my mother. Are they for daytime too or only evening events. Do you have to wear a white blouse and black velvet vest? What length should they be? Thank you...I miss Max, my childhood Dachsund when I see yours. Very beautiful. How do you get old wax off the candle holder? Just hot water?
You have an incredible knack for making polishing brass enjoyable………I now feel guilty & will have to get my brass cleaned while the sun is shining. No Dachshunds here, but one cat, Mrs. Scallywagz. who will likely assist me in the same manner as your beauties. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Always enjoy your videos, thank you.
I couldn't agree more, I still use the liquid stuff, which I assume contains the same cleaning ingredients as the wadding? I've never found a product that comes close to achieving the results that Brasso does, though I have to say "it does whiff a bit!". Good video, keep 'em coming.
Thank you Grant, polishing brass and silver is just a lovely meditative thing to do I find, and especially in the sunshine. However mine takes me about a tenth of the time that yours would but I enjoy it nonetheless!! I'm wondering what the collective noun is for Dachshunds? X
The finalists are as follows: a link, a string, or a length of dachshunds, otherwise a mischief or a wriggle of dachshunds. And the joint winners are: a string of dachshunds and a mischief of dachshunds. Found this on-line, thought it was adorable 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🤣😂🤣😂
Oh, great and.... I must have missed the silver cleaning video. I wonder to, how can one get rid oof some tenacious darker spots ? Fantastic to see them Candlesticks now glowing in the sunshine, ready for x-mas ; ))!
I'm very sad for the pass away of my mother.I'm in mourn trying to get along with it.I entertain meantime your show. She really is my best love. Miss my mommy.Isn't easy task, tho! L L
You'll think it mad but you can easily verify it with a quick search online; Tomato Ketchup. Rub it on, as you would brasso, let it rest for a minute or so and rinse it off and dry/buff. Heavier marking may take a few goes but, i promise, it does wonders for brass due to the natural acidity.
Mmmmm...I think I liked them better before you started RB!!...😂😂😂....Nice to see you doing some work though!!😉....Where do you get your ties from RB?...They're stunning!...
I like your videos alot but i do feel your holding back on us. We cant buy the thing you have in Denmark 😢 so i use something else but i think yours is better. Could you perhaps make a video on HOW to know if a candle stick is truly whut the seller tels you ? There are many reproductions out there ! The waigth is not always a clue cus back in the days they took away alot of the waigth to get more custermors so a ligth waigth candlestick can eacy be 100 years old without having the heavy waigth on them. There are a few clues but still it would be so much ❤ if you could make a video on how not yo get cheatet on your local " flee market "🙏 pretty please ❤
