Thank you. You did indeed show me how to do this. Successfully. Only difference was your pad is the size of a postage stamp, mine was more like a rug! I did get inky fingers but who cares, it brushes off with soap and nail brush. So pleased I was able to do this. Thank you. Thank you.
Ya these big companies find it easier to just throw it out. It’s cheaper for them rather than having a tech look at it and diagnose it. Glad you found this video and sorted it all out. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I believe it has to be reset. I always just cleaned them regularly so I never encountered the error message or light. So I’m not sure how to reset it. I think if you call canon customer service they can walk you through the steps.
I cleaned and replaced the nearest ink absorber pad successfully, but while trying to replace the cleaned second pad, I accidentally dropped it somewhere in the guts of the machine. Is there anything I can make a new ink absorber pad out of? Your advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you for the video. The only thing I did different than you was use my fingers. I could not do it with tweezers and I don't have a hemostat. The area is very tight. Using my fingers was easier for me. thanks for the help.
Thanks for watching. Just the fingers are easy for some. My hands would never fit there. Thanks for watching. Glad it helped. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 printer working wonderfully but took ages of digging to find the software needed. (printer had to be hooked up directly through usb in maintenance mode to get it fixed). I have the software but cannot remember where it was found. Printer is working wonderfully and all colors!
I always do this as preventative maintenance before an error presented itself. So I’m not sure how to reset an error. Hopefully you find an answer. Thanks for watching. Please still like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 My understanding is that the Canons do not actually know condition of the pads the error is generated after a certain number of cycles and does need to be reset. Google for instructions on your model and likely you will find it.
So far I have only seen videos showing the two ink models. Other Canon printers have six inks and presumably six pads. They must deliberately locate them somewhere that users can't easily reach, as part of their built-in obsolescence.
I’ve only ever seen canon printers having 2 inks. Never seen one with 6. That’s interesting. Thanks for watching. Hope you find the info you need. Please still do like and subscribe
