Thank you, thank you, thank you! For talking about the carrier tabs! My spring and tabs jumped out and I had no idea which way it went until I found your video! Now my knife is working properly again!
Just what I needed. A friend gave me one of these to cerakote and I couldnt for the life of me get it reassembled and working again... Now it does, thanks!
This video was incredibl helpful, my blade was deploying improperly way too often, and the switch itself was hard to deploy i the blade k it apart cleaned it and didn’t tighten the screws extremely tight (like how I received it) tilts now tied with my favorite orf (my other one yas no markings and even the seller didn’tput the name of it down, it has screws like a Microtech nt no micro symbol so rather so idk where it came from but now my cobrateexc is a viable And preferable option thanks to this video, I own (for reference I own 6 different otf’s) my only x gripe with cobra is the weight and thats not a dealbreaker when a knife is that great)
That was VERY helpful! I dropped my knife outside at the beginning of winter, and just found it today (April!). It’s corroded to where the switch won’t move at all. Now I can salvage it. Thanks MUCH!
Awesome video Thanks and this will help when I need to clean my new Cobretec knife, just picked one up today. Love this one & my Benchmade two very good knives👍👃
great video, short and to the point. I just bought one today to try it out. I had intentions of buying a microtec however, I know I'm very rough with my edc and was a little hesitant paying $300 plus for a knife. I just pray this will do the trick 🙏
Thank you for the amazing video! I had to make sure I don't mess it up and this really helps me a lot to make sure everything is in proper working order with Grey King Cobra.
Your video was very helpful. I had an issue with the blade locking when it is engaged. I cleaned the inside and the blade is working as designed. Thanks
I noticed if you over tighten the screws the blade won't fire so snug is the key for sure.got to love a 130 buck otf with d2 can't beat that love my cobratec great knife is a bit heavier then I expected but surprisingly I don't notice it in my pocket. 😍🔪
thanks for showing me another..... a better way to clean it . I had mine in my pocket and sand got in to it . I didn't know what was inside si I just put it in the tube and pushed the blade in and out to force the sand out and it works again .
I just picked one of these up. So far I love it. The actuating switch is a little on the stiff side, but I am sure it will break in with use. With tax it was a little under $100, which makes this the most expensive knife I have ever owned. Now I know how to maintain it, it's now just a matter of time to see how it fares in my EDC rig.
You paid about $50 too much. The switch will NOT get better over time. Some of the aluminum handled knives have a stupid stiff switch. Take it apart and stretch it a lil bit.
@@petemitchell6788 I don't know where I could have bought it for half what I paid. Even the web stores are priced near what I paid. I need to know what store is giving these away at half price. And I didn't shop it. I was at my local store, Indy Arms in Indianapolis IN and I am sure they marked it up, that's how a business stays in business. I needed a knife and after trying out the 40 or so knives in stock, this is what I settled on. Could I have gotten a better deal? Probably. But what I got for the money spent I am pretty happy. Sorry I didn't meet your level of buying prowess. I will work harder at that
I took apart my King Cobra cleaned all the parts good and used a touch of Mobil-1 synthetic grease on a cotton swab and very lightly put a thin lube on tracks and parts and it works great and smooth.
ChristianShadrickVlogs You will be happy with a CobraTec... they are well built and durable knife. The FS-X is CNC machined and is light at about 4.5 ounces...
I dropped the Cobra Tec from about 3' off the floor the other day and since then it only locks into place like every second or third ejection....I have to keep manually locking it by pulling it out over and over again...Very frustrating being that it wasn't a very high fall. So now when it ejects it won't lock and the blade just pushes in freely. I took it apart based on this video and double-checked that everything was in the right places (it was) and it still won't lock...Any suggestions (other than don't drop it) would be helpful. Thanks
Actually it does not. CobraTec encourages changing of blades and basic cleaning. Any modifications to interior parts would void the warranty. CobraTec has one of the best OTF warranties that I have been able to find.
Rob if clip is bent out of shape, it can be put in vice and bent back to original shape. If it is beyond repair, you can text or call me at 336-669-8850 or call CobraTec direct at 214-463-5601 and they will be able to assist. The replacement clips are $5.
So, i have had mine a month or 2 and the switch became disconnected on the inside and just slides freely now, but the blade is in the closed position so i cannot dry fire it to take it apart, what should i do?
Personally I’d point it towards dl something like a tree (have a towel to hold the screws sand such and hold the bnottpm so if the blade flies out it hits the tree but the. Again I almost blew myself up with Tannerite, a big asss firework, propane, gas inside a huge fire (I set 4 acres of my property on fire with that one) luckily it didn’t start a forest fire but a lot of my yard was black) so I’m not the best person to listen to. Might wanna get a second opinion (there’s a ton more stupid stuff that’s almost got me killed last time I went to the emergency room I was septic with all my organs shutting down I had about an hour left to live without medical intervention, sepsis can kill in little as 12 hours I had it for a few days and my bp was 50/40 (not a typo, 50/40) just have it you have a 40% mortality rate, advanced stages like mine it’s almost all but guaranteed, I didn’t go to the emergency room till I kept screaming from the pain and then passing out. I called and told my dad and I told him I wasn’t gunna go so he came and picked me up if it wasn’t for him I’d be dead so definitely ask for a second opinion 😂
My bad for the rant, it makes me look stupid af but most people online are, so 🤷♂ I don’t want you to get hurt by me giving you bad advice because I’m full of bad ideas.
Does anybody know where to bring a swing blade that has a riveted handle too is it handle to get the Push button switch Is repaired. Or adjusted it is too hard to push an open knife.
It’ll impale you and I’m you’ll die!!!’ Nah bro, it’s a year later so I’m sure younfogured it out but the knife may pop out and the spring prolly will to so be mindful of that.
