The incredible loud fan gave me no option but to open the PlayStation 4 (PS4 Fat) and give it some fresh air. No more noise and working like new, my PS4 is now good to go!

Been playing RDR2 on my 9 year old PS4 and having to turn the volume up to offset the Harrier Jump Jet noise. Now it’s clean, I can hardly hear the fan at all. Great video, thanks for posting.

I would recommend against taking apart the power supply as a general rule of safety, capacitors can still hold charge even when the device is off and unplugged. This rule generally comes from the PC building realm, however, I would still treat any electical component that has a PSU like this one with caution and wouldn't open it.

My ps4 just gave me a warning about it getting too hot for the first time ever since i bought it in 2015, I think its time to clean it up.

Thanks a bunch. I followed your instructions to the T, and everything seems perfectly in order. In fact, you wouldn't believe the difference it makes in noise reduction. It's quite amazing actually. My PS4 went from a jet engine to silent humming. And it wasn't even THAT dusty. Thanks again. You're the man. 💪

Can someone help me with blu ray, so I connect everything but in the end the blu ray won't accept my cd. already every ten seconds it ejects even though there is nothing inside

thanks for the video, successfully cleaned mine today, no more fighter jet sound. as for the ribbon, while pressing the metal tab on the connector, i can pull out the ribbon without any damage. and while doing all this, i change my cmos battery too, because there is some rust already on the battery. anyway thanks again.

For the ribbon cable, youre supposed to press down on the handle not pull it back. And you missed to put in 2 philips screws for the blu ray drive when you were re-assembling it.

If you have a ps4 slim and pro you are lecky, buzz you can clean the fan without opening the seal unlike ps4 fat 🤧🤧🤧

4:09 I need to know on a scale of 1 to 10 how worried I should be, cause I was prepared to buy a new disc drive entirely when I just might need the cable. As it DOES seem quite impossible not to break, I ended up chipping both left and right ends to that exact same degree. There's no damage to the connectors, just a small chip off the corners and my dumb ps4 can't detect the drive anymore. Idk why these stupid console makers always put these cheap-a ribbons in the worst positions held down with the worse locks that are bound to break each and every time!

Nevermind just solved it! For anyone having issues with the disc drive not being detected anymore, try pulling it out again, becareful lining it back in place but give it a good push to the very back of the socket so that the black and red lines on each end reach outline of the white sockets. Turns out that little piece that chips off the end of the strip holds it as far in as possible. To my knowledge, the side connected under the power supply may peak out a bit more and still be okay. Make sure the half of the strip on top is ALL the way in to the line!

⁠@@nicklespale22by "giving the push to the very back of the socket" do you mean the connection of the ribbon cable at the top of the drive? I inserted it but it feels kinda loose there. That's why probably my drive is not detected. Just wanted to check that I understood your comment correctly.

Oh my god thank you so much im 14 and just fixed my fighter jet. I cant even hear the noise now and there was a whole block of dust on the heatsink and its now cleaned tysm🫶🏻🫶🏻
