Today Pretty Boy Rob is going to show you how to clean BOTH pairs of the Suede Union LA Air Jordan 2, the Rattan and Grey Fog colorways. With a mix of suede and canvas materials, our cleaning kit of choice is the Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit.
Seeing double? We’re going to go through the same process on each of the shoes. Rob used the Soft Bristle Brush to dry brush the suede of the shoes, and we’re off.
Both the Grey Fog and Rattan Union Air Jordan 2 are primarily suede, so we’ll use the Soft Bristle Brush on the uppers. With that out of the way, Rob used the Medium Bristle Brush to tackle some deeper stains and the midsole, and finished the brush pretreatment with the Stiff Bristle Brush on the outsole of each shoe.
After letting the Union Jordan 2s dry overnight, it’s clear that we won’t have to use the Laundry System as previously thought, which is good news. It means we can skip straight to the last step in this cleaning, fixing this crunchy suede.
Rob pulled out all of the tricks to bring the suede back to life including the Brass Bristle Brush to reset the nap, the Dry Suede Kit to erase some of the remaining stains, and finally finished the sneakers with some Mink Oil to recondition that buttery suede.
