How to clean the hood range filter! | Clean Casa 

Your trick with boiling water and dish detergent worked like a charm on my dirty filters! I was really worried about cleaning those but they look like new. Thank you!

I almost trash my entire hood range and replace it with a brand new one because I couldn't degrease the whole dammed thing, until I see this. Thank you so much for sharing.

I’m five years late to the party, but I pulled mine down to clean it while I was deep cleaning the kitchen in my new house and the whole thing fell apart. Turns out it was being held together by 40 years of grease and just fell apart. 😂 and since the range hood was 40+ years old I couldn’t find a replacement for it. It was a funky size. I ended up having to replace the entire range hood. When I removed the screws it didn’t move an inch, I had to jiggle it out and use quite a bit of force. Turns out 40 years of grease was holding it up too. 😂 I used FEP super heavy duty degreaser to clean the walls and cabinets before I installed a new one. My new one has a grease filter that can be put in the dishwasher easy peasy. Also, I think we have to same oven.

Behind the filter I add carbon filters and use duct tape so behind it always clean. , throw dirty water 💧 outside near house 🏠 foundation so bugs doesn’t like it, and save your house plumbing from clogging.

Will try it out for sure esply the grease filter for the range.

I'd like to use your star winner , the stuff that it's in the jar, but I can't quite understand what exactly is the name. the camera is not able to show the name on the jar either. apparently is written with light ink. So, can you please type the exact name here ; what is it called, who is it made by, and if you remember the price , and where to get it from. I would certainly appreciate it. Where do we dump the water my apt has no water hose hook up...will the grease clog if dumped in kitchen drain.

Thanks so much for this video. I was really struggling with mine and I hopped on RU-vid and I'm so glad I found you. The boiling water and dishwasher detergent are soaking now and I can see all the grease coming off in the water. I love that you focus on effective cleaning with green products. I might have to try that Shaklee scrub, too. There's a lot of grease in my kitchen from the previous residents and I'm slowly making my way through it.

I'm sorry it's total garbage. If it is grease, I don't want to spend ages using elbow grease. Two words - Sugar Soap. Make a strong solution in a spray bottle and off you go. For filter, let it rest in sugar soap. It will will melt the grease anywhere - cupboard, floor anywhere.

The bad thing is, it doesn't trap ALL the grease. My ceiling was coated of oil. I hate these things!

Does the filter need drying time doest it have a sponge inside or it's ok to put it damp?

I just overhauled my hood and cleaned the greasy stuff choking the blower it was after 5 years of heavy use,you could imagine the filth.The problem now is the filter that is the reason why I came here.So I think I found the answer and I will work on it tomorrow and hope to have my filter looking like a new one.

Cleaned mine 2 days ago with soap and hot ,vinegar and baking soda .. unfortunately it didn’t work

We live in an Asian household in a American apartment, we really dislike these type of range hoods. We love everything to be vented outside.

Woow! I use this method the only thing is that I added half a cup of Dawn soap and left the water boiling on the stove and placed one filter at a time for 5 minutes each side ( flipping them extra extra careful with my tongs ) took it out and scrubbed it with a brush and clean water. They looks very close to new 👍🏼 ! Thank you

do you ever clean the round burners on your stove ? mine click all the time and I think it's due to the carbon powder residue. I use tooth cleaners to get inside all the little holes but can't seem to get them clean enough.

Wow lady, I just moved on my own, and I'm cleaning the department. I noticed at the very beginning of the video that you have the same stove we had in our house with my brother. Then I noticed that we have the exact same hood (as the one I'm trying to clean) this is what I was looking for thank you soooo much!!
