Brilliant, man. Very thorough! I read somewhere that the chemicals in soap don’t have a good reaction with the chemicals in the wheel but then again I never clean my wheels. Could be worth checking into if it matters. Thank you for the video!
Excellent description, thank you! One issue though, that I sometimes have to face is after removing the shield: the tiny "marbles" fall out of the bearing (especially when shaking them in the bottle). This is not game over, since I can put them back in, but this is extremely annoying (having big hands/fingers) and sometimes takes up to 20 minutes per bearing 😅 Doesn't happen always, more like a 50:50 thing. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to reliably avoid that? Every recommendation is appreciated 🙏🏻
Uhhh I’ve never had that happen, but it might depend on the bearing. Most bearings don’t have double shields like the ones I had in the video, some bearings like Bronson don’t have any shields at all. What kind of bearings are you using? That sounds strange, or like you’re removing the inner part that holds the balls. I’ll try and figure it out! If I can’t, try the r/longboarding subreddit or the longboard family facebook group!
Small detail in the wheel, you can literally see it in this video. It's purpose is longer or/and faster ride. Unfortunately that's a detail which gives most problems to skateboard or longboard users, especially after rain because process of cleaning while not that hard, is relatively long. In rainy seasons or winter that cleaning may become annoying.
