Thanks a million for this video that allows me to see the inside of the air conditioner. Now I realize I almost got scammed today by the airconman to do a chemical overhaul. Told me i need a CO to stop the leak, stating the drain “beside” the coil was chocked hence water leaking from air-con. He demonstrated by pouring water on the top of the coil towards the back and water indeed leaked out from the air-con. By doing that the water doesn’t flow into drain pan that’s why it’s leaking. In the end i went ahead with normal servicing which includes vacuuming of the drainage outlet which i assume that solved the leaking issue. After watching this video i got to know the inside of the air-con and there no drain on the side of the coil. Lesson learned. Good to educate ourselves 😊
This is one of the most detailed video on disassembly and reassemble the FCU. most other video take the lazy way out and just tell viewers to do it the reverse way to assemble back but that is the part where things go wrong. Appreciate the effort.
Thanks for this video. Saves me plenty of money on servicing. With the exception of the accumulated interior gel and water (which, sorry to say, have to be removed using wet vacuum that I don't have), this instructional video is pretty straightforward.
Brilliant video. I tried to clean out my MSZ-HR25VF split unit, but i was unable to get the front cover out, and all the tutorials on the internet were for three screw versions, mine is two screw model like this one on the video. I had no idea that i had to push it up lol. Thanks man!
Great video, missed watching as I dismantled and clean same model 2 days ago - watched another which took out the drain pan too, but very troublesome. So I didn't like what you did. Unfortunately did not fix back blower correctly and tighten the RHS blower screw. Aircon unable to start with the 2 LED green lights blinking. Next day service man fix it within 2 mins. I suggest you highlight this that the blower need to rotate into correct position before tightening. Also I spent much time fixing back drain tray; but you did it so easily.. Haha. Thanks once again for this video.
really detailed. except mine had a additional screw on the right of the blower which i had to loosen. Else its locked onto the shaft. I managed to clean it still. Thanks for the guide!
Best video on how to clean aircon so far. I have a question, one of my aircon has trunking directly below the aircon, is there a way to take the blower out?
Hi thank you for the super detail video. I have a small question about using coconut brush to brush the evaporator coil. Will that force dirt deeper into the evaporator coil?
Good Video, tried and tested. Got one part not shown, 2:22 > the blower cannot slide out without loosening the screw located inside the blower on the right hand side.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GXLTcSNI3v8.html Thanks for watching my video, please refer to this link for the follow up video of removing the blower. Please skip to 4.35
I cannot remove the front cover of the newly purchased Mitsubishi Electric indoor unit. Strange that the video shown the front cover can be removed without much force. It looks simply the cover pull out almost horizontally. What is the tricks?
Great help with me cleaning on my own. But sadly, after cleaning and assembling everything back to its original state. The aircon start producing this ticking noise that is annoying, with a push of the top or the unit, the noise disappear and then comes back after awhile. Any idea what have I done wrong? (I ensure all screws are tighten)
i tried to pull down the bottom, but still can’t remove the cover. My air-con service man said there is another “lock” on top which i I can’t see with my ladder. I gave up in the end.
Using Wet - vacuum pump. Nowadays new condo is using stack pipe, locate at toilet on top of ceiling. 1)remove the transparent hose and clean it, vacuum the drainage pipe both side. 2)old type condo normally is locate at flow trap inside toilet, remove the flow trap cover, the piping is inside, using small size tube to push in at the drainage pipe and joint to the vacuum pump.
Good video - I just serviced my Starmex today following your video. Feedback - show more clearly how to put back the aircon - I struggled with putting back the horizontal piece with the metal grill and vanes.
Sorry for not being clear enough in the video. Instead of tightening the coils screw you can fix back the drain pan first and then screw and tighten the coil.
For newer hdb flats the bedroom wall switch for ceiling light has concealed wire inside the wall. If I want to drill holes near the switch to mount the aircon remote control holder, where (above/below/left/right of the switch?) to drill to prevent drilling into the ceiling light switch concealed wire? Thanks
Wow excellent video...may I ask if it is ok to do svcing without removing them....means spraying chemical on the blower n coil n then spray water directly..plz advice..thks
I have 2 green lights on. It seems that it is not cooling as well. I have done all shown. Do I need to have the coolant checked? Is that done on the outside unit? I hired an ac repair company and they didn't do any of this other than show me how to work the controls. I have a disability where I need to stay in 61 degrees and in the afternoon with all the windows blocked I heat up to 66 to 71 with outside air being 80. Any ideas would be most appreciated.
2green light on mean no error, aircon is working find. For your case not cold need to check coolant and what is the ambient temperature?? 61degree is indoor or outdoor? Or may be your aircon cooling capacity is under size.
Hey love this video. Appreciate this so much. However after I have placed the blower and the drain back. After turning it on after few seconds. There’s a vibration noise cmg from the right side. I suspected it might be loose somewhere after removing the drain part. I have tightened all screws but I believe at the right side of the lamp indicator has no screw so it’s just ensuring it’s secured well but still have a vibration noise. Haha it was not cold and silence before now after I meddle with it it’s colder but with an annoying sound. help please. 😅
@@BonMj I face the exact same problem ... in the video you never mention cannot push the unit all the way into the axle, most people will naturally do that frankly... Now I cannot even remove the spinning unit from the axle anymore no matter how hard I try. I even tried spraying some WD40 lubricant to see if it can be pulled out, still cannot. If I leave it that way there will be an annoying scraping sound when the ac is on, and I will not be able to remove the spinning unit in the future for cleaning too... Help help help please ....
Comparing Daikin ismile eco vs Mitsubishi starmex, Q1. Which one easier to dismantle and clean Q2. Which one more durable quality Q3. Which one quieter? Q4. It seems like Daikin ismile eco is easier to remove the blower as it has no screw in the blower but Mitsubishi easier to remove drain pan and open the front plastic fins to clean blower and front plastic? Thanks
Hi Bon, new subscriber here based in Singapore. My room has the same model of aircond in the video Mitsubishi Starmex. Recently it has been leaking water. Do you recommend to clean the AC like in this video ?
I live in a RENTAL apartment that has a Mitsubishi A/C wall unit, so I'm not allowed to take my unit apart. Is there an easier, less intrusive way for me to clean the unit and especially get rid of that MOLDY smell when I turn the unit on? (I tried to tell the landlord about it but it's anybody's guess when he might do something about it or send a professional out to look at it...) I know that I can open up the large cover on the front and remove the white plastic, curved 'filter' that is right under the cover..and that I can wash it...but my experience is that it doesn't help very much...esp with the moldy smell. I seem to recall reading somewhere, however, that there is a way to RUN the A/C system...maybe for a few hours or so...on a particular setting...and that THAT alone can sometimes help to almost 'clear' the unit of mold?
this should be done as part of normal servicing which many air con companies don't even do. why pay them when you can do it yourself easily and clean it better than them ??
Sounds like a mini lime pump issue, take the front cover off if it’s a wall mounted unit you should have a lime or white and orange coloured pump, make sure the drain hose is correctly on, make sure the drip tray isn’t full of crap causing a blockage and if it’s not put a glass of water into the drip tray to see if the water is draining if not get a service engineer to take a look 👍
do i need to remove the sensor and synchro motor wires like what u showed in the other video? thanks. by the way another stupid question, how do i turn off the power? just use the remote to off it or i need to turn off the isolator?
@@BonMj i did it! first time cleaning aircon in my life! so satisfying watching the dirt coming out from the blower when i washed it ! thank you so much!
Hi Bon, few months back I engaged an aircon company to service my aircon. Ever since then, I keep hearing a ticking sound from the unit when I on it at night. Sounds like plastic expanding and contracting. Any solutions? I tried to loosen the 2 bottom screws of the cover but the sound still persists. V frustrating.
@@m18859 hi thank you so much for your kind suggestion. in the end I called up another aircon company to help. He did what you suggested too. And guess what? We found out that the first company we hired only put back 1 out of the 3 screws. 2 were missing 😓
Hi bro, after loosening the screw of the blower and three screws of the evaporator coil cover screws, the blower is unable to take out, please advise. Thank you.
Why my blower fan gt sound after servicing. I tried to troubleshoot by removing and installing again. But the aircon light was blinking and cannot be started? How to troubleshoot it?
@@nicholasoas9282 I found out apparently it's quite "normal" that people don't service their aircon since installed though. Father had a friend that did not service his AC for about 12 years and it still working fine.
Hi, I am going to buy new aircon, what brand/model is quietest and easy to clean? What Mitsubishi starmex model is best (quietest/easy to clean/durable)? Your video Mitsubishi starmex is what model? Thanks a lot.
@@BonMj Cooling Capacity: MSXY-FN10VE = 2.8kW, MSXY-FN13VE = 3.5Kw, MSXY-FN18VE = 5.0kW, what cooling capacity is better and what difference? Mitsubishi starmex compressor is it also quietest? Normal flat room what cooling capacity should I choose? Thanks. source www.mitsubishielectric.com.sg/products/air-conditioning/residential/multi-split-inverter-r410a/starmex-msxy-fn-series-wall-mounted-type
@@jasonl4237 it depends on your sft, as for the Mitsubishi Starmex, the outdoor unit may have a louder sound than previous models but is still bearable. For example a normal hdb flat , MSXY-FN10VE is a acceptable unit,as for living room you will need a bigger model. This are just some of my suggestion but it is easier to calculate if you have your actually sft.
