“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

If i am working in a salon and i just finished a client nails so should i leave my brush in the monomer till my another client comes? And should i use the same monomer or should i change it because i left the brush in the monomer?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Год назад
It's always best to use fresh monomer for each client. This way your monomer won't get saturated or feel "thick" when you use it on your next client and you will be able to pick up consistent pearls every time. To avoid wasting monomer, never fill your dampen dish any higher than the top of the bristles of your brush.

What is monomer... I don’t have it
@sammi.b.creative
@sammi.b.creative 2 месяца назад
Since I thought the same thing and had the same question but I don't see anybody answering it this is what I found online: "Nail monomer, also known as nail liquid, is a chemical compound used to create acrylic nails. Monomers are molecules that adhere to other molecules to form a polymer. Nail monomer is made up of ethyl methacrylate (EMA) and other additives, and is often purple with UV inhibitors to protect the acrylic polymer from yellowing. When mixed with nail polymer, the monomer creates a paste-like texture that forms long-lasting acrylic manicures." 😊

Hi what about regular polish or acrylic art paint in the art brushes how do you clean that off?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 8 месяцев назад
We find that using gel paints work more smoothly for most design work and they don’t dry in your brush, but if you prefer polish or acrylic pants, you would need to use a solvent to dissolve the paint. You may need to use polish remover or acetone to clean out the paint, but keep in mind this is very drying on the bristles and can cause them to fray. You may try rinsing them in monomer to help keep them conditioned but wipe out the excess so it doesn’t interfere with your paints.

currently in nail school: when disinfecting implements & tools with Barbicide, are you supposed to disinfect your acrylic brush or will that ruin the brush?
@youngnailsinc

We generally don't recommend disinfecting your acrylic brush since it is not a bacteria-friendly environment, but make sure to check with your state board for their requirements.

If you're referring to adding acetone the only time we suggest to use it with monomer is for flowers.. otherwise it will make your acrylic weak.

@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Год назад
Unfortunately, you would most likely need a new brush. You could try the acetone, but we also don't recommend using that to clean brushes because it can lead to fraying the brush.
@giannisimonedidthat
@giannisimonedidthat Год назад
After cleaning our brushes how should we store them upside down or they fine to sit normal
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Год назад
If you have a brush cover, it's best to store them with the cover on and pointing downward so any monomer can remain in the bristles rather than running to the handle. However, you can also store them covered in a drawer. Some techs like to keep them with the point upward in a cup on their station, but make sure however you store them, it is within your state board's regulations.
@laurak9637
@laurak9637 Год назад
I've been trying this to restore my acrylic nail brushes but when I drain/wipe the monomer out, the bristles don't stay together when I flatten it. It poofs out still. What am I doing wrong?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Год назад
If the brush has a crimp in the ferrule (the metal piece that holds the bristles), make sure that you are always wiping or pressing the brush flat with that crimp. If you wipe on the side of the brush or swirl your brush on your table towel, this can push the bristles out to the sides or bend them.

@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 4 месяца назад
We firmly believe in being able to shape the acrylic after it is on with an e-file as long as there is enough product on the nail for the correct strength and structure. If shaping is what you are having issues with, we have many great videos we can send to you. It kind of sounds like the issue you may be having is the acrylic is hardening before you have a chance to sculpt/move it where you want. Let us know which one is your issue and we can help you troubleshoot.

A smooth and non-reactive surface is ideal. I use a slice of agate I got on vacation in Arkansas. Actually ended up being cheaper than a lot of the resin ones you see other RU-vidr’s use. The white tiles can be used to mix color, easily cleaned and super cheap from any home store such as a Lowe’s or Home Depot. I actually used to use an old plate.

I have to put a request! You guys should start making these brushes with caps 😊 what caps do you use? Also this may be stupid but I think so In depth even if sometimes it’s common sense I rather ask and be 110% sure then be 5% unsure. So after so all that with our art brushes do we leave a little bit of that clear gel in the bristles like we do with are gel sculpting brushes or do we take a lint free wipe and wipe it?
