Cleaning your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset (HMD) is extremely important to keep it looking good and fun to play. That being said, using the wrong chemicals or materials to clean your headset can cause permanent damage, and so it is worth learning the right way to keep your headset clean.
Not a terribly exciting subject, but you guys asked for it, so here it is.

This video was of tremendous help, i just got into VR the other day, bought a quest 2, custom strap, headset, grips for the controllers, headset stand new face guard cause the cloth one just wasn't it etc etc etc, i went all out cause i wanted to make sure i had everything i wanted in one shot, not to mention i bought like 30 fkn games, yea i spent too dam much so i want to make sure i maintain my investment best as i can and this video now lies in my favorites list as a go to for cleaning etc, thank you for the help, much appreciate it.

Another way to prevent lens scratches and also sun burns is to get a cover for the lenses that you use while not using the quest. It seems steep to begin with but in the long run getting all these things will be worth it when you upgrade and want to sell your old unit. Obviously it’s something you have to ultimately decide on since it is your money.

I might try and find some of these, but i got a case for it so the only thing i worry about is other people not being careful and scratching teh lens with the strap or leaving it on a table where the sun can get it

I might be getting the elite strap and some Mamut grips for the controllers and I now had just received a free vr cover for my quest 2 so my quest is gonna be pimping

Came to see safest wipes on the headset but For the stock face foam I highly recommend thoroughly rinsing. Personally I sweat when I play and that soaks deep. Foam dries quickly over a towel after rinsing

Also use a small amount of dawn and gently work it into there before the rinse to get that pleasant scent for added bonus if the correct amount is used

You can also check the automobile section to buy a very large microfiber cloth for wing mirrors for around $3. You can polish both lenses at the same time, and it's good for a light clean of the outer headset.

Tbh I don’t get my oculus that dirty however I do clean the inside with damp q-tips and wipe the Lense off with a clean cloth weekly.

So I got an Oculus Quest 2 for Xmas. Opened up the box, which looked normal, put it on and noticed right away that there was a blur in the left lens. Well thought that was from my face grease or something. So wiped the lenses with a microfiber cloth, as I have tons for my sons glasses, there all high quality ones as well....the cheap ones suck and don't work as well as the higher quality ones. Which is the case with most things tbh. Anyway that didn't work. Under normal lighting conditions you can't see the scratch, well I couldn't. So just lately 3 months later, I took a flashlight to it and there's this huge scratch on it! WOW! How the hell did that happen, and it was there from the very first day! I originally thought the blur was moisture that got inside the lens from me sweating so much the first time I put it on(I played Beatsaber and was sweating like a champ!). Well it's a huge scratch on the lens that I couldn't see until I took a powerful flashlight and shined directly on the scratch! I emailed Oculus the day after Xmas, and about a dozen times since then, probably way more than that, and have not had a reply from them! I've also put in messages through the App inside the headset, about this issue, and 20 other issues I've had, and no reply. So anyone know how to get a hold of someone from Oculus?

I remember this one time I let a friend on my oculus quest and when he got off it was infested by lice someone else also had the same problem but it was him who did it himself it was super disgusting I had to get rid of it and me and my friend only talk online now to be safe but I had to buy a new one and now on I'm never letting anyone play on it

You can also use wd 40 specialist contact spray on all buttons to make them not stick or that same spray you had. You don't need to remove the aa battery unless your spraying the actual contacts. Good video

I didn't realize that my pen I was using had broken, standard Bic pen, but I had ink on my fingers and picked up my headset so there's little smudges on the outside of my headset. They say the way to clean ink off plastic is alcohol or acetone, which is clearly too abrasive. Do you have a recommendation on how to remove the ink if it's even going to be possible. It isn't hurting anything it just looks ugly, so I want it gone. It also got a little ink on the fabric straps. Can I use alcohol on those? I would appreciate any suggestions or help I can get. Thank you!
