The ring was filled with mineral or a white mineral or salty cover. I brushed ir but I don't know if I affected the ring's original coat. I clean it but the paper towels get stained with a black color of the ring. Should I still use it? THANKS!
I don’t see why you couldn’t use it. When googling how to clean the ring specifically, I came across this. “Pour a generous amount of hydrogen peroxide or white distilled vinegar into the base of the humidifier. Use a clean toothbrush to scrub away film and mineral build-up from the base of the unit. Allow the liquid to sit in the humidifier's base for at least 10 to 30 minutes, then pour the liquid out”. I typically use white vinegar and a tooth brush to clean mine and it still works just fine. I hope this helps!
I clean mine out after each use but my main problem is the water that I can’t shake out. Even after air drying it for a couple days, I’m still finding water inside the tank. Anyone else have this issue?
Have you tried just letting the tank soak for about 10-15 minutes with vinegar water? When mine needs a deep clean, I fill mine up and let it soak. I then rinse the tank and fill it half way with more vinegar water and shake it up real good. To get rid of the vinegar smell, I just use a dish soap/water mixture to fill up the tank after the vinegar cleaning, shake it up, and rinse it out real good. I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL!
